CESC was set up in 1969 by Oxford University Press. It is located in the east of England, near London and Cambridge. It is accredited by the British Council, and is a member of English UK.
Courses offered at the school include General English, IELTS Preparation, Business English, Teacher Training, Legal English, English for Medicine, and Fifty Plus courses.
There is an exciting mix of nationalities at CESC, and we are open all year round. Class sizes are small, and our teachers are experienced and well-qualified. Colchester English Study Centre is also an authorised centre for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) exam, the University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (KET, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE), and the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) exam. Since 1988, CESC has run a junior summer programme for 12-18 year-olds, International Language Holidays, which is also British Council accredited, and which runs programmes at Framlingham, Ipswich, and Clacton-on-Sea.
