UK MBA Entry Requirements

The UK MBA is a postgraduate post-experience programme. In exceptional cases, an applicant may be considered for admission without the specific academic qualifications if they have a substantial record of achievement and are able to demonstrate that they can benefit from and contribute to the programme. This will usually require strong employer support and these places are limited each year.

Interviews are sometimes required for entry to high ranked UK MBAs. The MBA interview allows the course team to assess the candidate’s suitability for the programme, and as a consequence, the candidate’s past experience, training and development and qualifications will be explored.

Please refer to the following information on general MBA entry criteria:

Qualifications (you will need one of the following)

  • A good UK honours degree (undergraduate degree)
  • An equivalent overseas degree
  • A degree-level professional qualification

Work experience (optional)

  • Top ranked UK MBAs - at least three years' work experience
  • Some Universities require no work experience (please contact us for more information)
  • Executive MBA - at least five years' relevant work experience

  • Minimun score 600 of paper-based
  • Minimun score 90 of internet-based

The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is required by some UK universities for entry to the MBA. Often, completion of the GMAT is required for finance and economics programs. However, there are many universities that do not require completion of the GMAT for graduate school admissions.
