Why do an MBA in the UK?
The most obvious reason is networks. If one day you seek business in Baku or Bogota or Ulan Bator it is as likely as not that your local collaborator will be the classmate you met on your UK MBA years before. No other country offers such an international mix of students, teachers and businesses. Another advantage is flexibility: if you have a degree and an aptitude for business but lack experience and funds you may still find an MBA tailored to your specifications that is worthy of the name and worth the investment. If you have limitless funds and a career record to match a UK MBA can still raise your profile, widen your scope and further your ambitions.
How much will an MBA cost?
You will pay fees of around £16,000 in most cases and the grandest schools will charge anything up to £60,000. Fortunately the UK caters to students of many different budgetary expectations and some low cost MBAs start as little as £5000.

Host to some of the world’s very best MBA providers in terms of quality of teaching and brand recognition, the UK university sector excels in quantity and number as well and rare is the graduate for whom SI-UK cannot find an MBA course somewhere. For students with strong first degrees and solid career starts the prospects are promising indeed as an MBA not only teaches how business works but also helps the student build a network of contacts that will pay decades-long dividends. A standard MBA takes one year but the two-year Executive MBA is on offer for more senior managers and there are many options for combining a part-time MBA with a demanding career schedule and finishing in up to five years. MBA Online courses are also available. In a world of ever-increasing grade inflation an MBA still yields a rise in salary and career status that more than offsets the cost of studying.

To be accepted on to some MBA programmes you will need at least an upper second class honours degree or equivalent and at least three (and preferably five) years full-time continuous work experience of a managerial nature.
