Undergraduate Study in the UK

Students in England, Wales and Scotland enter university at the age of eighteen, usually having studied A-levels and thus having had thirteen years of schooling.

Undergraduate applications to nearly all UK universities are managed by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). SI-UK is an official UCAS centre, with experienced UK University Counsellors that can guide you through the entire application process.

For their first degree, most students read for the degree of bachelor, which usually takes three years. However in the sciences and engineering integrated courses covering both undergraduate level and advanced degree level leading to the degree of master, usually take four years and include a research project or dissertation. There has also been the introduction of 2-year degree courses in some UK universities.
