The University of East Anglia is a campus-based university located in Norwich, England, and founded in 1963. The University of East Anglia is a member of the 1994 Group of research-intensive universities. The University of East Anglia was ranked 20th in the The Times Good University Guide 2008, and joint first for student satisfaction among mainstream universities in the 2006 National Student Survey. The University of East Anglia was also ranked 57th in Europe, and one of the top 200 universities in the world, in the 2007 Academic Ranking of World Universities published by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Services for International Students
The International Student Advisory Team provides information, support and advice to all international students and their families throughout their time at the University of East Anglia. They act as an important point of contact for information on subjects such as employment regulations, financial advice, childcare provision and any personal matters. There is a programme of social events and trips throughout the year and all international students are kept up to date with important news and advice through the International Student email list. The Advisory Team maintains close links with organisations such as the Home Office, UKCISA and the British Council to ensure that the concerns and needs of UEA's international student community are well represented.

Accommodation
A third of the University of East Anglia’s 3,400 rooms are under three years old and most are en-suite.
The University of East Anglia’s oldest residences – the ‘ziggurats’ – are now grade 2 listed buildings and are being refurbished.
The University of East Anglia offers some of the lowest priced university accommodation in the UK with three and a half thousand rooms available. Widely acclaimed as some of the most innovative in the UK, offering architect designed rooms, accommodation is arranged mainly in ten person houses, each having its own kitchen and dining area and most bedrooms an en-suite shower room containing a toilet and washbasin.
The University of East Anglia has over 2,000 brand new en-suite rooms on campus, as well as the University Village, located across the road from the main university entrance. Some 600 rooms are available in the architecturally unique ziggurats of Norfolk and Suffolk Terraces. Most standard rooms have their own washbasin and bathroom facilities are shared.
Freshers who live over 19 km (12 miles) away and new international students applying within deadlines are guaranteed rooms.
City rents around £56 a week for a room in a shared house.
Campus rents range from £56–£91 a week.

Campus
The University of East Anglia is a campus university set in over 300 acres of rolling parkland just two miles from the centre of Norwich. Campus universities score strongly on measures of student satisfaction and provide a range of services that can also be enjoyed by the local community.
The University of East Anglia campus is compact, with all teaching, research and accommodation within a few minutes walk of each other. Sporting, cultural and social facilities, including one of the largest sports complexes in the UK and the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, are also located on campus. The campus and its grounds are open to the public and the site is visited by many thousands each year who enjoy the beauty of the parkland, woods and the Broad (a man-made lake).
Buildings on the University of East Anglia campus represent a microcosm of some of the best of late 20th century British architecture with Sir Denys Lasdun’s initial scheme complemented with buildings by Lord Foster and Rick Mather. Several buildings on the site have been listed by English Heritage and over 30 have received architectural awards, with the Elizabeth Fry Building being described by Building magazine as ‘the best building ever’ and the Zuckerman Institute for Interconnective Research receiving plaudits for its energy efficiency.

Location
The University of East Anglia is easily reached by road, rail and air. It is particularly well served by the rapidly expanding Norwich International Airport and is only 100 minutes by train from London. The city is a major regional centre that attracts many thousands of visitors each week to enjoy shopping and social activities in the city. The University of East Anglia is located on the south-west side of the city (virtually at the end of the main A11 from London). Despite its parkland setting it is just two miles from the city and is served by regular bus services throughout the day and night.
