The University of Greenwich's Natural Resources Institute, based in the UK, announced today that it is a Grand Challenges Explorations winner, an initiative funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr Maruthi Gowda, Senior Research Fellow, will pursue an innovative global health and development research project, titled “Use of endosymbiotic bacteria as a novel biocontrol agent for crop pests and diseases”.
