Queen Mary Hits the Top 10 in the UK for Research

After impressing in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, Queen Mary, University of London confirmed its place among the top 10 universities in the UK for research following the latest results of the 2014 REF.

Queen Mary is now ranked 9th among multi-faculty institutions in the UK and Professor Simon Gaskell, President and Principal of Queen Mary, commented: “This is an outstanding result for Queen Mary. We have built upon the progress that was evidenced by the last assessment exercise and have now clearly cemented our position as one of the UK’s foremost research-led universities.”

The Research Excellence Framework is the system for assessing the quality of research in UK higher education institutions. The results are used to determine future funding.
