William Hills was an alumnus of the university who studied Mechanical Engineering at the then Woolwich Polytechnic. Following this he then worked for the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich where he eventually became the Chief Draftsman. William maintained close links with the university, taking a keen interest in the future of Mechanical Engineering in the South East and Kent Regions. He was dedicated to the encouragement, support and education of a new generation of talented Mechanical Engineers, and now sadly, following his death, this scholarship is possible. Each recipient, of six awarded annually, will receive an award of £2,000 for each year of their 4 year MEng Mechanical Engineering degree programme. Am I eligible?
Application processThe Faculty will notify prospective students that they meet the eligibility criteria. The 6 recipients will be those with the highest grade point average at the end of the first academic year, as identified by the Progression and Award Board. |
