The University of Kent is committed to delivering sporting excellence and is proud to offer scholarships to students with outstanding sporting ability at both Canterbury and Medway campuses. The amount to be offered will be determined by the University Sports Scholarship Committee and each case is considered on its own merit.

There are many benefits to receiving a University of Kent Sports Scholarship. These include:
- Financial support of between £300 - £5,000 to cover equipment, physiotherapy, travel etc.
- Free sports membership
- Fitness programmes
- Monitored fitness testing
- Sports advice and guidance
- Weekly supervised workouts


  • Scholarships are available to elite sportsmen and women from any sport who compete (at least) at county level or equivalent
  • Scholars should be committed to representing the University of Kent and preferably play for teams based at the Canterbury Campus
  • We consider undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, as well as current students. 

It is not necessary to wait for an offer of a place before submitting your application, however the offer of a scholarship does not carry with it the offer of a place.
