Scholarships at Universidad de Teesside

Teesside University offers a range of scholarships to support eligible international students who demonstrate academic excellence in their application. The aim of these scholarships is to support students who demonstrate the highest potential prior to joining University.

The Africa Excellence Scholarship value is £2,000 in your first full academic year of study (all successful applicants on a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme). Applicants on a foundation/pathway programme delivered at Teesside University International Study Centre are not eligible for the scholarship, but will be considered for the scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.

The scholarship is allocated as a fee waiver.

If you meet the criteria below, you will automatically be considered (but not guaranteed) the scholarship. You do not need to apply separately or contact the University to be considered for the scholarship, but will be assessed using details on your course application by the Department of International Development. If you are successful, you will be notified by the University after the deadline for all applications has passed. All eligible international applicants will be assessed by the International Scholarships Committee.

• On a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme, applying to study at Teesside for the first time. Excludes students on pathway/foundation programmes at Teesside University International Study Centre, however you may be considered for this scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.

• A full-time sponsored or self-funding student, paying international fees starting your course in September 2024.

• Eligible students offered a scholarship will be notified by email. The email will contain a deadline by which they to pay deposit and accept the offer. If they do not meet the deadline provided, the scholarship offer will be revoked and offered to another eligible student.

• There are a limited number of scholarships available.

If you are an undergraduate international fee-paying student at Teesside University and wish to progress to postgraduate study, or if you complete a master's with us and progress a new postgraduate programme, you are eligible for a £1,000 alumni scholarship. You will only receive the bonus if you apply directly to us and don't use an agent and the £1,000 is awarded as a discount on your first-year fees for the next programme.

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Teesside University is offering three scholarships to students in Egypt, Indonesia or Pakistan applying for postgraduate courses.

• Value of scholarship: £10,000

• Number of scholarships available: three GREAT Scholarships.

The GREAT Scholarships 2024 programme, launched by the British Council together with 72 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam to access world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 72 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered for a GREAT scholarship, you must:

• Be a national of one of the following countries: Egypt, Indonesia or Pakistan.

• Be assessed as international for tuition fee purposes.

• Be self-funded.

• You must hold an offer from Teesside University (conditional or unconditional) by 26 April 2024 for a postgraduate taught one-year master's programme, commencing September 2024.

Teesside University offers a range of scholarships to support eligible students coming to study at the University from China.

The China Bursary Scholarship value is £1,000 in your first full academic year of study (all successful applicants on a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme). Applicants on a foundation/pathway programme delivered at Teesside University International Study Centre are not eligible for the scholarship, but will be considered for the scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.

The scholarship is allocated as a fee waiver.

If you meet the criteria below, you will automatically be considered (but not guaranteed) the scholarship. You do not need to apply separately or contact the University to be considered for the scholarship, but will be assessed using details on your course application by the Department of International Development. • Student must be domiciled in China and have a nationality classified as Chinese.

• Eligible students offered a scholarship will be notified by email. The email will contain a deadline by which they to pay deposit and accept the offer. If they do not meet the deadline provided, the scholarship offer will be revoked and offered to another eligible student.

• There are a limited number of scholarships available.

Teesside University offers a range of scholarships to support eligible students coming to study at the University from China.

The China Merit Scholarship value is £3,000 in your first full academic year of study (all successful applicants on a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme). Applicants on a foundation/pathway programme delivered at Teesside University International Study Centre are not eligible for the scholarship, but will be considered for the scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.

The scholarship is allocated as a fee waiver.

If you meet the criteria below, you will automatically be considered (but not guaranteed) the scholarship. You do not need to apply separately or contact the University to be considered for the scholarship, but will be assessed using details on your course application by the Department of International Development. If you are successful, you will be notified by the University after the deadline for all applications has passed. • Student must show evidence of achieving either:

• IELTS 5.5 overall score (5.0 minimum in each element) equivalent, plus average of 80% in your highest academic qualification from China.

• or IELTS 5.5 overall score (5.0 minimum in each element) equivalent, plus either Graded Units at A and B in the SQA Advanced Diploma programmes.

• or IELTS 6.0 overall score (5.0 minimum in each element) equivalent, plus Graded Units at B and B in the SQA Advanced Diploma programmes.

• On a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme, applying to study at Teesside for the first time. Excludes students on pathway/foundation programmes at Teesside University International Study Centre, however you may be considered for this scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.

• A full-time sponsored or self-funding student, paying international fees starting your course in September 2024.

• There are a limited number of scholarships available.

This prestigious scholarship recognises applications from outstanding students who can demonstrate their skills and commitment to becoming future global leaders.

There are up to 30 Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships available, of £7,000 each, allocated as a fee waiver in the first year of study.

The scholarships are designed to assist international students, enrolling in January for the first time at Teesside University, to study an undergraduate degree or postgraduate taught degree.

Point of entry: For students enrolling in September 2024.

Eligibility criteria

• Be a genuine applicant, intending to study an international fee-paying undergraduate (including Level 0) or postgraduate taught degree level course, enrolling for the first time at Teesside University.

• Start your course in September 2024.

• Submit an application for consideration.

• You have paid the deposit amount as stated on your offer letter.

• You have made your conditional offer firm by accepting it.
