The University of Greenwich offers a world-class learning environment with diverse disciplines available for students. It prepares you with the skills employers value and the confidence to achieve extraordinary things.

The University is located on three campuses: Greenwich, Avery Hill, and Medway—three outstanding campuses with advanced amenities and resources open to students and staff. The largest campus, Greenwich, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is located on the banks of the River Thames, just 20 minutes from central London, and has been the set of many Hollywood films.

Students can choose to study undergraduate and postgraduate courses at any of its campuses. Some of the courses offered include business, engineering, law and criminology, science and media, and creative arts.

Students have access to the University’s research centres, libraries, sports grounds, and student centres. They are supported by a strong service structure, including academic services, employability services, and general well-being.

Why choose Greenwich?

  • 3 stunning campuses, based in London and the South East of England
  • Delivering excellent teaching in over 350 subject areas
  • A community of 17,000 students from over 160 countries.

Attendance at SI-UK events is free for prospective international students.

Preparing for a university visit is essential to maximise your time there. Some things you should do include:

  • Research the university and your favourite courses in advance.
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask.
  • Bring copies of your academic documents and any other relevant materials.
  • Dress appropriately and professionally.
  • Take notes during your visit to remember important details later.

Scholarship Support

Scholarships provide financial assistance to international students who may not have access to the same resources as domestic students. Tuition fees for international students are higher, and the expense of travelling the world to study at a UK university can offset the financial burden of studying abroad by providing vital financial support.

If you are looking for a scholarship, grant, or bursary to help fund your studies in the UK, the SI-UK team and selected UK universities can assist you with what you are eligible for.

Supporting Documents

When attending a UK university open day as an international student, you must bring along several supporting documents to ensure you have all the necessary information and materials. We recommend that you bring:

  • Academic Transcripts: Please provide copies of your high school transcripts and any previous academic qualifications, such as diplomas or certificates.
  • English Language Proficiency Certificate: If English is not your first language and you've taken an English proficiency test (such as IELTS or TOEFL), bring a copy of your test results.
  • Passport: Your valid passport or any other form of identification.
  • Visa Documents: If you already have a student visa or have applied for one, bring copies of relevant visa documents or confirmation of visa application.
  • Resume/CV: Please include a copy of your resume or curriculum vitae (CV) detailing your educational background, work experience, extracurricular activities, and any other relevant achievements.
  • Portfolio (if applicable): If you're applying for a creative or practical course that requires a portfolio (e.g., art, design, architecture), bring samples of your work or a portfolio showcasing your skills and creativity.
  • Reference Letters: Copies of reference letters from teachers, professors, or employers that support your application.

By bringing these documents, you'll be well-prepared to engage with university staff, gather relevant information, and make the most of your UK university open day experience as an international student.
