Scholarships at University of Salford

Scholarship Details

The Chevening scholarship is worth 100% of the tuition fee, a monthly stipend and airfares. 

This scholarship is open to master's degree applicants for selected programmes who have:

• A good standard first degree.

• Work experience of at least two years.

• A high standard of English language.

• Leadership and networking skills.

A commitment to work in their home country for at least two years after completing their master's degree.

This scholarship supports high-achieving international students to study at undergraduate and postgraduate level. 

Scholarship details

For undergraduate applicants, the Global Gold Excellence Scholarship is worth £3,500 for every year of study starting from September 2026. 

For postgraduate applicants, the Global Gold Excellence Scholarship is worth £3,000.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate master’s programme.

Self-funded students who successfully complete the International Foundation Year at Salford with a grade of 70 or higher, are eligible for this scholarship if they progress to one of our eligible undergraduate programmes starting from 2024-25.

If you are an undergraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme and achieve A-level grades ABB  or equivalent from your country.

If you are a postgraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme, achieve a first-class degree and meet your offer conditions by the deadline shown on your offer letter.

Terms and conditions

You may be interested in this scholarship if you have already been awarded a different scholarship. However, in line with our terms and conditions, you can only receive one scholarship - the one with the highest value.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate master’s programme and achieve the grades specified above. International Foundation Year applicants are currently not eligible. 

Starting from September 2026, Undergraduate students who are eligible for our Global Gold or Global Silver Excellence Awards will receive this scholarship for every year of study. Students must maintain a good academic record throughout their studies to continue to receive this scholarship.

Current students who started their course before September 2026 and who are eligible for the Global Gold or Global Silver Excellence Award will only receive the scholarship for the first year of study. 

Students on the following courses are not eligible for this scholarship:

• Any undergraduate programmes including a placement with the NHS, including Diagnostic Radiography, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics.

• MA Fashion Design

• MSc Occupational Therapy

• MA Wildlife Documentary Production

• MA Social Work

• Any postgraduate research courses

For undergraduate applicants, the Global Silver Excellence Scholarship is worth £3,000 for every year of study starting from September 2026. 

For postgraduate applicants starting, the Global Silver Excellence Scholarship is worth £2,500.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate master’s programme.

Self-funded students who successfully complete the International Foundation Year at Salford with a grade between 65 - 69 are eligible for this scholarship if they progress to one of our eligible undergraduate programmes starting in 2024-2025.

If you are an undergraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme and achieve A-level grades BBC  or equivalent from your country.If you are a postgraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme, achieve at least a second-class lower (2.2) degree or above and meet your offer conditions by the admission deadline
