The University of Glasgow has several International Leadership Scholarships available to International and EU (non-UK) students starting a postgraduate taught Masters programme in any discipline for Academic Session 2023-24. The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fees discount.

The James McCune Smith Scholarships will fund Black UK students to undertake PhD research at the University. They will provide an enhanced experience through external mentors, placements, leadership training, community-building activities and networking opportunities. The Scholarships are named after James McCune Smith, who graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1837 as the first African American to receive a medical degree.

Eligibility
A candidate must be a UK domicile Black African, Black Caribbean, Black other, Mixed-White and Black Caribbean or other mixed background (to include Black African, Black Caribbean or Black other).
The University is seeking to address under-representation by these groups in our PhD programmes.
This is an extra opportunity for Black UK students to receive a funded PhD place at the University of Glasgow.
Applying for a James McCune Smith Scholarship does not prevent a candidate from simultaneously applying for other schemes to obtain a funded place. However, only one funded place can be accepted.

The University of Glasgow has a number of Undergraduate Excellence Scholarships available to new International and EU students for 2023 entry. The scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount of £7,000 per year of study and is subject to satisfactory progress for consecutive years of study.

Qualifications already achieved: students holding the following A Level/IB (or local equivalent) grades are guaranteed a scholarship offer;
Qualification not yet achieved: students predicted, or who achieve, the following A Level/IB (or local equivalent) grades are guaranteed a scholarship offer. For offers made on the basis of predicted grades, the scholarship may be withdrawn if final exam results do not meet the grades outlined below.

The University of Glasgow is offering up to 20 Sanctuary Scholarships for applicants to the University who are in the UK on humanitarian grounds and are facing challenges in progressing onto Higher Education. The scholarship is open to prospective undergraduate and postgraduate taught students at the University of Glasgow applying for entry in September 2023/24.
The scholarship will meet the cost of tuition fees for the duration of your programme, for those applicants who are unable to cover full tuition fees through access to public funds by applying to SAAS or Student Finance. The Sanctuary Scholarship also provides a £5,000 per year stipend, to assist with study costs. In addition, if the eligibility criteria for university accommodation is met, this will also be provided for the duration of your degree, if required.
To be eligible applicants must:
Hold a firm conditional or unconditional offer for study at the University of Glasgow for 2023/24; and
have submitted, or are the dependant of someone who has submitted, an application to the UK Home Office for recognition as a Refugee under the 1951 UN Convention on the Status of Refugees (hereafter “The Convention”) and not yet received a decision from the Home Office on that application; or
have been offered leave to remain in the UK on the grounds of Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights or under Paragraphs 276ADE – 276DH of the UK Immigration Rules.
