Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. Awards are typically for a one-year Masters degree.
Who can apply for a Chevening Scholarship?
Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion, and academia. Applicants should be high-calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership.
Chevening Scholars come from over 110 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the Scholarships will support approximately 700 individuals. There are over 41,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.

International Foundation Year
Eligible individuals studying an International foundation year will be able to receive a scholarship of £1,500 for their first year.
Undergraduate Courses
Eligible individuals studying undergraduate courses will be able to receive a scholarship of £1,000 per year.
Postgraduate Courses
Eligible individuals studying the following postgraduate courses will be able to receive the scholarship amount stated for their first year.
MBA Graduate Master of Business Administration - £1,500
MSc Management (Including pathways) - £1,500
MSc Construction Management - £2,000
MSc Data Science - £2,000
MSc Advanced Engineering Management - £2,000
MSc Advanced Computer Science - £2,000
MSc Information and Technology - £2,000
Eligible individuals studying postgraduate courses not mentioned above may be able to receive a scholarship of £3,000 for their first year.
Research Courses
Eligible individuals studying Research Courses will be able to receive a scholarship of £1,500 per year.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship discount you must:
Be assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residency status.
Be assessed to pay the overseas fee.
Be studying the relevant course full time.
Be actively enrolled on an eligible course.
Be a self-funded student, who is paying the full course fee for that year (those students who have their tuition fees paid by a third-party sponsor, employer or government agency will not be eligible).
Studying that level of the course for the first time (i.e. not repeating any level during that year).
Leeds School of Architecture International Scholarship for September 2023, and join a diverse community where you’ll learn from experienced practitioners in the industry.
The Leeds School of Architecture scholarship will be awarded on the basis of exceptional academic performance and design experience, evidenced through an interview and design portfolio.
Funding
Each postgraduate architecture course will grant a number of scholarships to the value of 50% of the tuition fee. The awards are available for full-time taught master’s courses and will be applied as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.
5 x £16,000 scholarships available for Master of Architecture - MArch (£8,000 x 2 academic years).
5 x £8,000 scholarships available for MA Architecture Futures (12 months).
3 x £8,000 scholarships available for MA Landscape Architecture and Design (12 months).
2 x £8,000 scholarships available for MA Urban Design (12 months).
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for a Leeds School of Architecture International Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Have achieved a UK first-class or upper second (or overseas equivalent) undergraduate award from an Interior Architecture, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or Spatial Practice course.
You must receive an unconditional offer from Leeds Beckett for the Master of Architecture, MA Architecture Futures, MA Landscape Architecture and Design, or MA Urban Design courses by 17April 2023.
You must also satisfy all of the conditions of entry for postgraduate study at Leeds Beckett University.
This scholarship is open to applicants assessed as having an ‘Overseas or EU’ residence status from one of the eligible countries.
