Dundee crowned best young university in the UK

13 April 2017

The University of Dundee has been crowned the best young university in the UK by Times Higher Education for the second year in a row.

A total of 27 UK universities featured in the global top 200 and Professor Sir Pete Downes, principal and vice-chancellor of Dundee University, said: “To be ranked 16th globally among such universities, and top in the UK, is a great testament to the impact that our research and teaching has around the world, while the experience we offer students has been consistently rated among the best to be found anywhere.” Other UK universities featuring in the top 100 included the University of Stirling (46th), Plymouth University (65th) and Portsmouth (98th).

Dundee has now improved their position in every major league table over the last year, and they are the only Scottish institution moving up in the Times Higher World Top 200.
