SI-UK welcome new SI-UK India Managing Director

SI-UK is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Lakshmi Iyer who is the new Managing Director of SI-UK India.

Ms. Iyer has been working in the education industry for over 20 years and her passion for the sector is immense. A DFID Scholar with a Masters in International Marketing from the UK, Lakshmi began her career in International Education working in the Student Support Office at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow.

An extensive background in counselling for multiple countries over 9 years and training and managing scores of counselling staff in her team at Study Overseas have helped hone her skills in the sector thus enabling her to offer support to SI-UK’s client universities.

Lakshmi is also a sought-after speaker at leading higher education conferences such as AIEA, AIEC, BCCIE, NAFSA, IEAA and NZIEC. She is an avid observer and commentator of the higher education space and runs one of the most respected personal LinkedIn and Twitter channels for news aggregation on higher education.  

Of her appointment, Lakshmi said: “I am very excited to step into this role which takes me back to my first love, which is counselling students. The founders, Dwayne Gallagher and Orion Judge have set up a solid foundation for SI-UK globally and India is an extremely important region for all universities world wide looking to attract quality applicants.

“I am honoured to be coming into this role and look forward to working with the entire senior management team as we embark on the next phase of growth.”
