University of Reading announce new Life Science programmes

03 December 2019

The University of Reading have announced a number of exciting new Life Science programmes which are available for September 2020 entry.

All of the new BSc programmes listed below also offer students the option of a year in industry at a professional placement. Reading has one of the most beautiful campuses of all UK universities and is just 25 minutes away from London on the train.

- BSc Chemistry with Cosmetic Science

This exciting, dynamic programme explores the chemistry behind the design and development of cosmetics and has been developed in conjunction with the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Society of Cosmetic Scientists, and industrial partners. Students will learn the same processes as those used in industry, with input from industry professionals, making them extremely employable in a rapidly expanding cosmetics market.

- BSc Medical Science

The BSc Medical Science degree covers topics such as biomedical laboratory research and frontline clinical care in order to improve patients’ lives. Tailored pathways allow students to specialise in topical, cutting edge areas of medical science.

- BSc Pharmacology

Developed together with the pharmaceutical industry, the BSc Pharmacology is ideal for anyone interested in how drugs work. This course has been designed to align with the British Pharmacological Society's core curricula and there is an emphasis on the skills required in the pharmaceutical industry including computer modelling, statistical analysis, and handling and analysing big data sets.

- BSc Nutrition

In this applied programme, students will learn about the links between nutrition and health, both on an individual and societal level. Topics covered will include diet-related diseases, the impact that nutrients can have on the body, and how public health advice is underpinned by clinical evidence.

My consultant was very helpful and motivating. She helped me every step of the way, even when the deadline was so close. I feel I could not have done it without her. I'd highly recommend this service to any and all of my many friends interested.
