UK universities open own on-campus vaccination centres

17 August 2021

In a move to boost vaccination uptake amongst students, a number of UK universities are opening on-campus vaccination centres for the coming Autumn term.

UWE Bristol, Kingston University and the University of Stirling have already opened campus vaccination centres, with other institutions in cities such as Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham and Portsmouth expected to follow suit.

Prof Steve West, the vice-chancellor of UWE and president of Universities UK, told the newspaper: “At the age of 18 most of your life isn’t planned. It’s so much easier if you can just turn up and have the vaccination on campus.”
