If you're an international student from the Indian sub-continent (India, Bangladesh or Pakistan) and you are funding your own undergraduate studies, you could be eligible for a scholarship worth £4,000 which you'll receive as a tuition fee discount in your first year.

Eligibility

You must meet all of the following conditions.

  • These scholarships are restricted to applicants who are classified as international students for fees purposes and are ordinarily resident in one of the countries specified above.
  • Applicants must be entirely self-funded.
  • Applicants must be starting their first year of study on a degree course at the University of Essex in 2021-22.
  • Applicants must actively make Essex their firm choice by 19 July 2021*. Applicants that become firm with Essex through rejection by their original firm choice selection elsewhere are not eligible.
  • Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex awards.
  • This scholarship is available for the first year of study only.
  • Students will only be eligible for the award if they are paying overseas fees.
  • Successful applicants should be available for promotional activities.

**University of Essex International College students are exempt from this deadline.

Students who aren't eligible

You are not eligible for this award, even if you meet the criteria above, if you:

  • defer your entry (if you defer entry to the following year, the award will be withdrawn, though
    you may be considered again under the following year's terms and conditions)
  • are on any East 15 Acting School courses
