The William Hills Scholarship offers six students £2,000 each year for the duration of their 4-year MEng Mechanical Engineering degree. An additional two awards are available for two students on year two of their BEng Mechanical Engineering degree.
The scholarship is available to full-time MEng Mechanical Engineering students, as well as students who transfer from the BEng Mechanical Engineering to the MEng in Year 3.
In 2020/21 two additional awards are available for BEng Mechanical Engineering students. They will be available for the best two performing students in Year 2.
The scholarships are awarded based on performance at the end of the first academic year.
Am I eligible?
You will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the William Hills Scholarship:
You are a new entrant, studying the MEng Mechanical Engineering on a full-time basis at Medway Campus or you are studying the BEng Mechanical Engineering (Year Two only) also on a full-time basis at Medway Campus.
You have at least 128 UCAS points from two or three A-Levels (including at least a B in A-level Maths). Level 3 Key Skills and General Studies are not included.
Students on the BEng Mechanical Engineering who transfer to the third year of the MEng will also be eligible to receive the scholarship for their third and fourth years. These students will be identified and nominated by the Faculty.
We’re all about GREat Skills! If students participate in our outreach activities before joining us at the university, they could be eligible for a scholarship worth £2,000.
We want to reward students from the schools and colleges we work with who prepare well for university by developing their independent learning and study skills before they start with us.
If students participate in a minimum of 5 of our outreach activities during their A Level/Level 3 studies and will be joining us for their undergraduate studies in September 2023, they may be eligible for a substantial cash scholarship of £2,000.
This will be paid to students in three instalments during their first year.
Eligibility Criteria
Students will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for the GREat Skills Scholarship:
Students will need to be studying at one of our targeted schools and colleges and must be nominated by a member of staff.
Students need to be studying level 3 qualifications (A level, BTEC Level 3, T Levels, Access, IB or any other Level 3 qualifications) which hold UCAS points and will be receiving their final results in the Summer 2023.
Students should be local to our campuses, living in London, Kent or Medway, Essex, Sussex or Surrey or are a Child in Care/Care Experienced student under a Local Authority within one of these locations.
Students need to have received an offer to study a full-time undergraduate course (including extended programmes) at our Greenwich, Avery Hill or Medway Campus (excluding the Medway School of Pharmacy), which commences in September 2023.
Students will be a new full-time undergraduate, paying the maximum tuition fee of £9,250.
The deadline for applications is Midnight on 22 May 2023.
This scholarship is for an offer holder seeking asylum or with refugee status in the United Kingdom. It covers tuition and accommodation costs, plus a maintenance grant.
For 2023/24, we will offer two scholarships (undergraduate or postgraduate) to offer holders who are seeking asylum or have refugee status in the United Kingdom and are not eligible for financial support.
Successful scholars will receive:
Annual tuition fee waiver.
Maintenance support of £5,000, paid in three instalments.
Annual accommodation fee waiver for Avery Hill Campus.
Once you are awarded a status that allows you access to student finance (tuition-fee loans, etc.), you no longer receive the scholarship in subsequent academic years.
Am I eligible?
Applicants must meet all of the eligibility criteria outlined below to apply.
You have been offered a full-time place on an undergraduate or postgraduate taught course at the University of Greenwich entering at year 0 or 1, commencing September 2023.
You will be studying at one of our three campuses: Greenwich, Avery Hill or Medway (except Medway School of Pharmacy).
If studying with a Partner College, the tuition fee must be paid directly to the University of Greenwich.
You are unable to access Student Finance (Tuition and Maintenance Loans) due to your current immigration status.
You do not already hold a qualification that is equal to or higher than the course you are applying for.
You are resident in the UK.
You must also be able to provide documentary evidence to verify your circumstances.
Applications will open 01st December 2022 and deadline will be 31st May 2023 – Panel decision for awardees to be notified by End of June 2023.
Our Greenwich Postgraduate Scholarship gives final-year undergraduates of the University of Greenwich the chance to receive £5,000 to continue their studies with us.
At the University of Greenwich, we are invested in our mission to create education without boundaries. As a part of this investment, 75 current final year students will be awarded a £5,000 waiver on tuition fees to complete a postgraduate course with us. The scholarships are available for all of our master’s degrees, whether they be completed full-time or part-time.
The scholarship is available for a broad range of Master's degrees for full-time and part-time study.
Am I eligible?
The scholarship is a £5,000 fee waiver to study a master’s courses at the University. The criteria for the scholarship application is as follows:
Final-year University of Greenwich undergraduate student predicted to achieve a Second (2:2) or above class degree.
Considered a UK national or an EU national resident in the UK paying home fees.
Household income is below £43,000 for the 2022/23 academic year, which you can prove to the university.
Hold a conditional offer to study a master's programme for 2023/24 (through the PG fast-track application route or a direct PG application).
Not already studied a postgraduate degree.
Close scholarship applications: end of June (Friday 30 June).
