The School will award one sum £3,000 on a competitive basis to a successful applicant commencing Master's level study in September 2020.

To be eligible, candidates must demonstrate financial hardship and be undertaking a Master's at the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research, starting in September 2020 on either a full-time or part-time basis.

This award will be in addition to any Kent scholarships and discounts.


• Have applied to study a Master's at the School of Social Policy, Sociology and Social Research at the University of Kent

• Preference will be given to candidates on the MA International Social Policy 

• Study to commence in September 2020

• Be able demonstrate financial need

How to apply

Applicants should provide a supporting statement explaining why they wish to embark upon their chosen Master's and how the Bill Jenkins Award would benefit them. The statement should not exceed 500 words.
