Academic Year 2020
Scholarship amount Up to £1,500 per year
Nationality Any

The Anglo-Jewish Association provides financial assistance to Jewish students in financial need to enter further education or studying for full-time degrees at universities in the United Kingdom.

Through its management of a number of educational Trusts, the AJA offers bursaries and scholarships to students wishing to study in a number of specific fields, such as medicine and science, as well as more general areas of study.

The AJA UJS Student Welfare fund aims to assist those students who, often through no fault of their own, have met with financial difficulties and require extra support whilst studying. The Fund is operated in complete discretion with formalities being kept to a minimum. Applicants, however, are required to complete a form in which the financial statement section is an integral part. Only students studying at recognised tertiary educational establishments in the UK can be considered.

Criteria

  • Available to British undergraduate (some information hopefully of use for postgraduates is found below)
  • For those obtaining their first degree, or an equivalent course, from a recognised UK based educational institution. Unfortunately, part-time courses cannot be supported under the AJA-UJS Student Welfare Fund.
  • Available as a contribution towards essential living or studying costs, such as utilities, travel, books or other study material.
  • Up to a maximum of £1,500 per applicant per year. All applications are treated as a one-off, but individuals can apply in future years, and that will be considered on its own merits.
