At the University of Huddersfield, we recognise academic excellence by offering a merit-based scholarship of up to £4,000 to international students for a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Are you eligible?
To be eligible for our merit-based scholarship you must:
Be an international fee-paying student.
Be applying for a full-time taught undergraduate or postgraduate course.
Be fully self-funding your studies, this means you are not receiving any funding for your studies.
For postgraduate, you must have achieved a minimum 2.1 or equivalent in your undergraduate degree and must meet the English and academic entry requirements for your course.
Master’s by Research programmes are not eligible for these scholarships.
Master’s with placement in the Huddersfield Business School are not eligible for these scholarships.

For international undergraduate students, you could be awarded up to £4,000 for every year of your course, based on your academic achievements.

Scholarships for postgraduates
Scholarships of up to £4,000 are awarded to international students applying for taught postgraduate courses, based on their academic achievements.

Our Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Scheme provides a fee waiver of at least 50% (rising to 100% in some Schools) on full-time or part-time research degrees to international students and those from the EU.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for our Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship you must:
Have a first-class honours degree.
Achieved Distinction at taught Master’s level.
or
Have been recommended on the basis of your Master’s by Research by your supervisor and academic school.
and
Have graduated from the University of Huddersfield in the last three years. If you are due to graduate in the current academic year, then any offer will be conditional on your degree outcome.
General
Our Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Scheme is available for research undertaken on either a full-time or part-time basis.
Research degrees include the following awards; PhD, Master of Arts by Research, Master of Science by Research and Master of Enterprise.
Our Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship Scheme is available for the standard registration period only; for doctoral awards this will be either 3 years full-time or 6 years part-time and for Master’s by Research awards this will be either 1 year full time or 2 years part-time. The fee waiver will not apply to any research undertaken outside of this standard registration period, including any write up period.
The University of Huddersfield reserves the right to vary or withdraw the waiver at any point in future academic years.
