Scholarships at Trinity College Dublin

Award: Scholarships valued between €3000 to €5000 each, applied as a reduction to the tuition fees for the Global Business (Bachelor in Business Studies) for the first year only.

Eligible Majors and Course Level:  

Global Business (Bachelor in Business Studies) Undergraduate Programme

Who can apply: Applicants who have non-EU status and will pay tuition fees at the non-EU rate.  

Selection Criteria: The scholarship will be assessed based on academic achievement, and evaluation of the applicants’ potential to contribute to the overall TCD community 

Students in the Senior Freshman (second) year may compete for a foundation scholarship, which will go into effect at the start of the student's third year. Up to ninety foundation scholars are elected annually on the basis of performance in the scholarship examination, which is usually held in the week before the start of the second term.

Foundation scholars are entitled to a range of privileges, as detailed in the Emoluments and Privileges section of the College Calendar

In addition to the tangible benefits held by Scholars, these scholarships are highly prestigious, conferring a lifelong status within the College. Successful candidates, those achieving an overall first class result in the examination for scholarship, are elected by the Board on Trinity Monday, which marks the beginning of the annual Trinity Week when the community celebrates high standards of achievement among students and staff.

The Trinity College Dublin STEM Study Abroad Excellence Scholarship is awarded to a semester or year study abroad student who demonstrates academic excellence in their area of study and conveys how study abroad at Trinity will aid them in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the scholarship, students must:

• Apply to Trinity as an undergraduate study abroad student, i.e. apply to Trinity for a single semester or year for transfer credit from their home university in a non-EU country.

• They must be declared majors in a STEM subject at their home university and must enrol in a minimum of 10 ECTS in STEM modules at Trinity.

Criteria for selection

Students will be selected based on their academic performance to date at their home university. Performance in their major and minor subjects will be particularly relevant to their application, as will be the student’s personal statement. Applications which include personal statements of longer than 750 words, as well as incomplete applications, will not be considered.

Eligible Majors and Course Level:  

Full-time undergraduate programmes (except Medicine, Dental Science and Acting) 

Who can apply: 

a) Applicants who have received a conditional or unconditional offer for an undergraduate programme, have non-EU status and will pay tuition fees at the non-EU rate.  b) Applicants must be normally resident in and have completed their high school education in India.  c) Applicants must have achieved/predicted to achieve a minimum (in one of the following):

• International Baccalaureate score of 36

• A level score of AAB or similar

• India Grade XII score of 90% overall

Selection Criteria: 

Scholarships are merit-based and applications will be assessed based on academic achievement, and evaluation of the applicant’s potential to become an outstanding ambassador and contribute positively to the overall Trinity community.
Applicants must demonstrate their ability to fulfil future ambassadorial duties for the University.

The School of Law and Trinity Business School are delighted to offer two scholarships to students undertaking the MSc Law and Finance degree in academic year 2022/23.  The value of the scholarship is a 5,000 euro contribution towards tuition fees (EU or Non-EU). These scholarships aim to support and develop gifted postgraduate students and will be awarded to candidates who demonstrate a high level of academic achievement, extracurricular accomplishments or contribution to society.

Eligibility

This scholarship is available to new entrants (EU and Non-EU) to MSc Law and Finance degree programme, for admission in September 2022.  Applicants must hold a conditional or unconditional offer and complete the application process upon receipt of offer and no later than 31st May 2022.

Selection Criteria

Applications are assessed competitively with the sole criteria for the granting of the scholarship being the proven academic merit of the candidate. It is accepted, however, that many candidates with exceptional qualifications apply annually to the programme. Thus the decision as to the recipient of the scholarship is at the exclusive discretion of the MSc Law and Finance Course Directors.
Scholarships will be allocated after the 31st May 2022. All applicants will receive communication shortly after this date.

As the selection process will be highly competitive, applicants are strongly advised to apply for all other funding and grants open to them.

Conditions

This scholarship is open to EU and Non-EU postgraduate students undertaking studies on MSc Law and Finance degree programme in 2022/23. It is offered subject to the following conditions:

• The holder must have completed an undergraduate law, business or economics degree.

• The holder must engage in full-time study and must register for the MSc Law and Finance at the Law School in academic year 2022/23;

• The holder is required to engage in relevant academic and ambassadorial activities as determined by the MSc Law and Finance Course Directors;

• The holder must not be a simultaneous holder of other grants, or funding or other awards (or any other awards with a similar monetary value).
