Ravi Ray Scholarship

Scholarship amount £3,000

Class of 2001 alumnus, Mr Ravi Ray, works as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospitals, Spire Hartswood, Spire Wellesley, Nuffield Brentwood & Harley Street Specialist Hospitals. Mr Ray also provides educational input and pastoral care to junior doctors, nurses & physiotherapists as well as being involved in national recruitment of junior doctors into specialist Orthopaedic training. Mr Ray's passion for (legacy) St George's and desire to support the next generation of medical and health care professionals led to the creation of the Ravi Ray Scholarship in Undergraduate Medicine.

About the scholarship

The Ravi Ray Scholarship in Undergraduate Medicine helps alleviate financial concerns for students from disadvantaged backgrounds who demonstrate outstanding potential to make a difference in the world. Each year, the scholarship will provide funding towards one Medicine scholar’s tuition fees or living costs for the final three years of their programme.

The selected scholar will receive £3,000 annually towards tuition fees for Years 3, 4 and towards living costs for Year 5 (or an intercalated year) of their degree.
