Ireland is a small, independent nation, located on the west coast of Europe and is a member of the European Union. Ireland offers a high level of education that is recognised throughout the world. For this reason and others outlined below, Ireland is a popular destination for international students. Ireland houses 9 universities, 14 technical institutes and 24 recognised independent institutes. Bachelor degrees generally take 3-4 years duration, and post graduate qualifications take 1-2 years.
