In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, Glasgow Caledonian University is offering 3 scholarships to students from Bangladesh and Kenya applying for one-year postgraduate courses.
The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK.

The GREAT Scholarships are jointly funded by Glasgow Caledonian University with the UK government’s GREAT Britain Campaign and the British Council.
The scholarship offered are as follows:
£10,000 towards tuition fees for one-year master’s programmes to students from Bangladesh and Kenya who will enrol into Glasgow Caledonian University in September 2024. Application deadline 30 May 2024.
Eligibility
The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at the 41 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Hold an offer of a place for an eligible postgraduate taught programme September 2024 intake only.
Be from one of the listed countries above.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.

International students with Indian, Nigerian and Pakistani nationality, who study a full-time postgraduate taught course, on-campus in Glasgow or London, from the academic year 2024-2025 are eligible for up to £3,000 scholarship in the form of a tuition fee discount. There is no need to apply for this scholarship separately as your eligibility will be assessed on application. The tuition fee scholarship will be applied at enrolment, should you be successful in your application to your chosen course.
GCU Plus: There is an additional opportunity for students with Indian, Nigerian and Pakistani nationality who have a strong academic background and can demonstrate their commitment to study through their statement of purpose, or who have a strong score in one of the GCU- approved English Language tests. In this case, you may be eligible for an additional £1,000 scholarship over and above the New to GCU Postgraduate Scholarship described above, to a total of £4,000 as a scholarship in the form of a tuition fee discount. There is no need to apply for this scholarship separately as your eligibility will be assessed on application. The tuition fee scholarship will be applied at enrolment, should you be successful in your application to your chosen course.
International students with the following nationalities: Bangladesh, Canada, Ghana, Kenya, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam, who study a full-time postgraduate taught course from the academic year 2024-2025 are eligible for a £3,500 scholarship in the form of a tuition fee discount.

What is the scholarship?
Full tuition fee scholarship for 1 Year Masters programme.
You must have an unconditional offer to study for a master's degree at GCU (Glasgow or London campus) commencing September 2024 and be able to detail how you will cover your living costs in line with UKVI visa regulations.
Scholarships will be awarded on an overall assessment of the merit and promise of the candidate, including their financial circumstances this is a highly competitive scholarship for limited places and no late applications will be accepted.
Selection criteria will be based upon the following answers when you apply:
Applicant has a strong academic profile
demonstrates how you have contirbuted to the common good
Applicant has demonstrated financial need
Applicant has clearly outlined how the programme fits with their future ambitions and goals
You will be required to agree to the Ambassadors' Charter, which outlines requirements for successful applicants. These are:
Record three vlogs/blogs about your experience as a student of GCU
At least one social media takeover (such as Instagram live)
Be in attendance and adopt an ambassadorial role at our open days/afternoons
One hour per week as a Unibuddy helping answer prospective students' questions about life at GCU.
Who can apply?
Any International fee-paying student who can demonstrate how they have contributed to the Common Good and are looking to commence studies inSeptember 2024 and have an unconditional offer on a master's degree in either our Glasgow or London campus.
As part of the application, you will be required to submit a video of no longer than two minutes telling us about yourself and how you have contributed to the Common Good. Please detail the link of your Youtube or Vimeo video on the application form.
This scholarship is very competitive so please ensure your application details the impact your Common Good activity has made.
