Overview
Loughborough College is located in the Midlands and we share the same open, green campus with Loughborough University, making it one of the largest student campuses in Europe. The college was established in 1909 and this we year we celebrate our 100th anniversary.
We have been welcoming international students for over 50 years and our students create a friendly, cosmopolitan atmosphere together with 2000 full time students. Last year we welcomed 300 international students from 40 countries making for an interesting international environment in which to study and live.
Loughborough College is a member of the British Council, Education Counselling Service and also UKCISA, the organisation supporting international students while studying and living in the UK.
Support and Facilities
We have an experienced Welfare team and excellent Halls of Residence located next to the college with internet access. Local host families are also available for students wishing to experience family life.
Loughborough College students become members of Loughborough University Students Union and have access to all the sporting and social activities at the university. There are over 100 clubs and societies and Loughborough College students have the opportunity to join them. The college’s Student Liaison Officer also organises a variety of free social activities including sport, fitness, debating club, computer club, musical activities and trips.
The college provide a free taxi service for all new full time international students studying for a full academic year.
The Learning and Resource centre has wide ranging multi media facilities and computer packages, photocopiers, scanners, DVDs, course books, newspapers, journals and magazines.
Courses
Loughborough College deliver a wide range of traditional and vocational qualifications in preparation for degree study or career progression.
- English for Academic Studies – starting each Monday during the academic year
- Intensive English IELTS preparation - April to June each year
- Academic English Pre sessional Summer School - 8 weeks in July and August
Loughborough College Academic English courses are accredited by the British Council.
