What is Password Skills Plus?

Password Skills Plus is the faster way to prove your English language level for university or college admission.  The test can be taken from your own home anytime 24/7 and is taken through your webcam under online invigilation (proctoring).

Test Format

The Password Skills Plus test consists of four test modules – reading, writing, listening and speaking. It takes 3 hours and 5 minutes to complete.

Password Reading has five sections. In each section there is one task for you to complete. You have 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete the five sections.

Password Writing assesses your ability to write an essay. You have a choice of two essay titles and should write at least 200 words in 30 minutes.

Password Listening has five sections. In each section there are one or more tasks for you to complete. You can press play once and the recording cannot be paused or restarted. Each recording will play twice and questions appear on the second playback. You have 1 hour to complete the five sections.

Password Speaking has five sections. In each section, there are one or more tasks for you to complete. You will read the question on the screen and then answer it by speaking into the microphone. Notes can be made to help prepare answers. You have 20 minutes to complete the five sections.

Test Preparation

1. There are free preparation materials and sample questions on the Password website as well as a short  online course and practice test if required.
2. The student handbook (available form the Password website) explains in detail all that is needed on test day.
