Quarantine restrictions for Indian travellers to the UK lifted

13 October 2021

The UK government has announced it will begin accepting India’s vaccine certificates from October 11th, helping ease quarantine and travel restrictions for Indian flyers.

From the above date, India will be added to the list of countries and territories with approved proof of vaccination. This means that travellers with both doses of a UK-approved vaccine can show their proof of vaccination and complete a COVID test on day 2 of their visit, which needs to be booked before arrival. These rules apply to children below the age of 18 too.

For the moment, these rules only apply to those with both doses of Covishield. An update for those who have taken Covaxin or other non-approved vaccines is expected soon.

Stay up to date with the latest UK study and coronavirus updates and if you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact the SI-UK London team on 020-7287-7040 or by arranging a free online consultation.
