Scholarships at University of Kent

Criteria

If you receive an offer and accept your offer by 31 July 2026, you will be considered for a tuition fee discount scholarship of £6,000. This scholarship will be available for one year full-time, registered study on a postgraduate taught course. There are 25 scholarships available for students commencing a postgraduate taught course at Kent in September 2026. The first 25 applicants who meet the criteria will be awarded. 

You must meet all of the following conditions: 

• Have completed Kent’s BA (Hons) Business Top Up course at Beaconhouse International College, Pakistan 

• Be classified by the University of Kent as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes 

• Have applied for a postgraduate taught course at the University of Kent for entry in September 2026

• Have accepted an offer of a place on a postgraduate taught course at Kent by the deadline indicated above 

• Have paid your tuition fee deposit by the deadline indicated above 

POINTS TO NOTE: 

• You must meet the academic conditions of entry/be accepted for entry for the award to be given 

• The award is capped at 25. The first 25 qualifying applicants to apply will receive the award 

• This award cannot be held in conjunction with other awards and scholarships. Please contact us for further information. 

You must meet all of the following conditions:

For Overseas Applicants:

• Hold a valid passport demonstrating nationality of a country receiving ODA funding from the OECD.

• Be classified by the University of Kent as an Overseas student for tuition fee purposes

• Be fully self-funded

For ALL Applicants:

• Have applied for the taught Kent LLM in Solicitors’ Practice at the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent for entry in September 2026

• Must have achieved a 2:1 or equivalent in your Law Degree at Bachelor's Level. 

• Must have undertaken your Law Degree at an institution other than the University of Kent.

• Must provide a short personal statement (500 words) demonstrating what you have done during the course of your law degree to pursue a career as a solicitor. 

• Have received an offer of a place on the taught LLM  in Solicitors’ Practice by the scholarship application deadline.

• Submit a scholarship application (details below) by the scholarship application deadline (please note that we are unable to consider applicants for the award without an application)

POINTS TO NOTE:

• You must meet the academic conditions of entry/be accepted for entry for the award to be given.

• This award cannot be held in conjunction with other awards and scholarships

• Where students are required to continue their studies beyond their original period of registration, the award will only be provided for that original period of registration.

• Applicants must have made a formal application to study on an MA programme in the School of English or the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies at Kent and be in receipt of a formal offer for September entry in 2026.

• All candidates who have applied for place on a taught MA programme by Monday 13 July 2026 will automatically be considered for the scholarship, regardless of their fee status, nationality or domicile.

• Scholarships are available to outstanding student athletes from any sport who compete (at least) at county level or equivalent

• Elite Scholars are expected to be representing nationally and competing internationally in their sport

• Sports Scholars should be committed to representing the University of Kent in British University & College Sport (BUCS) competition and join their relevant student club

• Sports Scholarships are open to new international and domestic undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, as well as current University of Kent students

• Sports Scholarships are not available to International students who are taking a foundation year

It is not necessary to wait for an offer of a place before submitting your application, however your application will be checked against a valid Kent Vision Applicant ID. Applicants should also note that the offer of a Sports Scholarship does not carry with it the offer of a place and all students are subject to the normal course tuition fees.

Eligible candidates must:

• Be progressing directly from undergraduate to postgraduate study at Kent.

• Begin postgraduate study in September 2026.

• Have achieved at least a 2.1 in undergraduate programme.

• Have received an unconditional offer for a programme by the deadline 16 July 2026. If you have not received an unconditional offer (or a conditional offer where the only outstanding condition(s) is your fee deposit and/or your final results), the application will be rejected and the next eligible candidate will be selected.

Postgraduate Taught or Research Master’s programmes are eligible.

MArch students who are direct entrants from an UG degree are eligible.

Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma Students are not eligible.

Students in receipt of this award are not permitted to also hold the Kent Graduate BAME in Higher Education Scholarship or the Widening Participation Ambition Scholarship. Successful applicants to multiple awards must confirm which award they want and any remaining scholarships will be made available to a reserve candidate.

This award cannot be used in conjunction with any other complete fee waiver.

Scholarships will be allocated to eligible candidates in the order the applications are received, therefore early application is recommended.

Undergraduates applying to study at any of the following University of Kent campuses are eligible to apply:

• Canterbury

• Medway

Applicants must have made a formal application to study for the Medieval and Early Modern Studies Taught MA at Kent and be in receipt of a formal offer for September entry in 2026. 

All candidates who have applied for place on the taught MA programme by Monday 13 July 2026 will automatically be considered for the scholarship, regardless of their fee status, nationality or domicile.
