The College of Engineering, Design & Physical Sciences (CEDPS) Academic Excellence Scholarship is a cash award available to full-time students commencing specified undergraduate courses in the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences.

Award details

Value: £2,000 cash each year for a maximum of three years for a full time course and for a maximum of three years for a sandwich course. The scholarship will only be paid once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met (additional payments will not be made during a repeating year, regardless of the reason for repetition).

Scholarship holders may be requested to represent Brunel at various promotional activities throughout their time at the University. Participation is not mandatory and scholarship holders may be contacted with invitations to participate in activities such as surveys, focus groups and interviews, in order to evaluate the University’s financial support package. Scholarship holders will be contacted as and when participation is required. If a student chooses not to participate, their scholarship award will not be affected.

Data pertaining to scholarship holders such as: progression rates, degree attainment, degree completion, and graduate outcomes may also be analysed in order to understand the effectiveness of bursaries and scholarships. This data may also be linked to other data already held by the University for the purpose of better understanding the impact of bursaries and scholarships on under-represented groups.

Eligibility

Scholarships will be awarded to all those applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Must hold an offer of a place on a full time Undergraduate course within the College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences (including placement routes and undergraduate integrated Masters programmes but excluding Integrated Foundation courses), a list of eligible courses can be found in appendix 1.

• This includes offers made through UCAS Clearing. Clearing applicants must ensure that they inform the Student Loans Company (SLC) at the earliest opportunity that they are attending Brunel University London. The SLC must notify Brunel University London by 27^th September 2024. Failure to do this will result in the applicant not being considered for the award.

• Offer must be for FHEQ Level 4 (Year 1) of the course.

• Offer must be ‘Unconditional Firm’ (UF) by the date the Scholarship Allocation Panel make their awards (i.e. applicant must have met all offer conditions and firmly accepted the place).

• Must commence the course in the upcoming academic year (applicants for deferred entry will be considered for a scholarship in the year they start their course and not in the year of their course application).

• Must achieve or exceed one of the following qualifications and grades:

  • 3 A Levels with grades AAB or above

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma with 33 points or above

  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma or BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma with grades D*D*D*or above

  • 3 Scottish Advanced Highers with grades AAB or above

  • Higher Irish Leaving Certificate from 5 subjects with grades H2, H2, H2, H3, H3 (or AAABB from the pre-2017 grading system) or above

Those not eligible for this Scholarship:

• Applicants entering a course in the Foundation year, FHEQ Level 5 (Year 2) or FHEQ Level 6 (Year 3).

• Applicants entering a course with Brunel Pathway College (BPC), or who are progressing to a Brunel course from a BPC course.

• Applicants who will not commence their course in the upcoming academic year - applicants holding offers for deferred entry will be considered for a scholarship in the year they start their course and not in the year of their course application.

Brunel University London is proud to offer a discount of 10% off the tuition fees for every year of the course for any new applicant registering onto a course in 2024/5 who has a:

• Direct family connection to a student enrolled at the University (‘Current Student’);

• Direct family connection to a ‘Graduate/Alumni’ of the University;

• Registering at Brunel in the same entry year as their family member;

• Direct family connection to a current member of staff at Brunel University London (‘Current Staff’).

Award details

Value: A discount of 10% off the tuition fees for every year of the course for any applicant applying for a course starting in 2024/25, who has a direct family connection to a ‘Current Student’, a ‘Graduate/Alumni’ of the University or a ‘Current member of staff’ at Brunel or is registering in the same entry year as a sibling.

The discount will only be applied once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met. Family is defined as spouse, parent, child or sibling.

 We are offering an unlimited number of awards. The Family Discount will be awarded to all applicants that meet the eligibility criteria. (The discount will only be applied once irrespective of the number of qualifying family members).

Eligibility

The discount will be awarded to those applicants who are:

• Registering on a full time or part time undergraduate or postgraduate programme, including distance learning courses and online learning students who meet all the following criteria.

• Have applied by the deadline stated in Section 1 and provided evidence of a family connection to a ‘Current Student’, ‘Graduate/Alumni’ or ‘Current Staff’ of Brunel University London.

 Those not eligible for this discount:

• Applicants awarded the BMS International Scholarship.

• Applicants who registered with the University in a previous academic year.

Brunel Medical School (BMS) is pleased to offer 3 prestigious scholarships for International students. The scholarship scheme is for overseas fee-paying applicants only and the awards will be based on merit.

Award details

Value: Each scholarship has a total value of a 15% fee discount off the annual tuition fee across the duration of the 5-year course, (for example, the tuition fee will be reduced by 15%  in year 1, 15% of the year 2 tuition fee, etc) subject to satisfactory progression. The scholarship award will be deducted from the annual tuition fee only; it will not be awarded as a cash payment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Brunel Medical School International Scholarship an applicant must:

• Apply for and fulfil the academic criteria for admission to the Brunel Medical MBBS programme.

• Be in receipt of an offer to study on the full-time MBBS programme starting in September 2024 and have paid the deposit by the deadline, which is normally at the end of May 2024.

• Applicants must meet all conditions of their offer by the time they are due to register at Brunel.

• Must be classed as an overseas fee-paying student based on the UK regulations. Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information they have provided in their application form to assess fee status against regulations set by the UK government.

• Brunel Medical School International Scholarships are open to students who need to undertake an English Language course at Brunel Language Centre (BLC) prior to starting the MBBS.

Those not eligible for these scholarships:

• Applicants NOT classed as overseas for fees purposes based on the UK government regulations, or those with an unresolved fee status.

• Applicants sponsored by their home governments.

• Applicants who will NOT commence their course in September 2024.

• Brunel graduates awarded the 15% Graduate Discount applied to the net tuition fee.

All students who are responsible for paying their own course fees in full, and who pay the full amount of fees due at or before their scheduled date of registration, may receive a early payment discount of 2% on the net course fee i.e after the application of any other discounts to which they may be entitled.

The Brunel Business School (BBS) are offering a number of prestigious scholarships for UK and overseas (including EU) applicants joining the Brunel MBA in September 2024 and January 2025 of the 2024/25 academic year. Brunel Pathway College (BPC) and Brunel Language Centre (BLC) students can apply for this scholarship after successful completion of their pre-masters’ course. There are a limited number of awards available every year and the application process is very competitive.

Successful awardees may be expected to undertake specified duties as Brunel Ambassadors for the Brunel Business School (BBS). Activities might involve representing the MBA programme at internal and external marketing and recruitment events, providing guest talks and seminars to undergraduate/postgraduate students, providing reports on each event and writing a Brunel MBA Blog and/or other initiatives as appropriate. In addition, awardees will also be expected to assume mentoring responsibilities as required by BBS. Scholarship winners will be contacted by the MBA or Marketing team as and when participation is required.

To be eligible for a Brunel MBA Scholarship an applicant must:

2.1 Apply and fulfil the entry criteria for admission to the Brunel full-time or part-time MBA programme. Awards will be only made to the candidates holding an offer of a place on the MBA programme.

2.2 Be in receipt of an offer to study on a full-time or part-time MBA programme starting in September 2024 or January 2025.

2.3 Complete the Brunel MBA scholarship application form comprising of an essay of no more than 500 words and a supporting statement.

2.4 Recipients of the MBA Academic Excellence Scholarship must:

• Have scored within the top 10 percentile of the GMAT and will be required to provide evidence of their test results.

• Applicants should either :

• Be a National of a country on the African continent;

• Should reside in a country on the African continent at the time of scholarship application.

2.6 Recipients of the EU MBA Scholarship must:

• Be a National of a country in the EU;

• Should reside in a country in the EU at the time of scholarship application.

2.7 Recipients of the Middle East MBA Scholarship must:

• Be a National of a country in the Middle East;

• Should reside in a country in the Middle East at the time of scholarship application.

2.8 Recipients of the UK MBA Scholarship must:

• Be a National of the UK;

• Should reside in the UK at the time of scholarship application.

Applicants that fail to provide evidence of results will not be considered for this scholarship.

Those not eligible for this Bursary:

2.10 Applicants who will not commence their course in the upcoming academic year - applicants holding offers for deferred entry will be considered for a scholarship in the year they start their course and not in the year of their course application.

3. Allocation

3.1 Applications will be reviewed on a regular basis throughout the year by the MBA Scholarship Committee. All scholarship applications will be assessed rigorously against a set of standard criteria and applicants applying for the scholarship must pass a rigorous selection and a transparent evaluation process which includes a written essay as well as an interview conducted by the members of the MBA Scholarship Committee, which will assess motivation and contribution to the cohort.

3.2 The MBA Scholarship Committee will be responsible for initiating and managing the communication with the applicants, alongside the marketing team. They will be screening and assessing the applications, and submit their recommendation to the committee. The committee will be responsible for producing a final list for eligible awardees.

3.3 Applications for scholarships will be considered on the balance of eligibility criteria met by each applicant.

3.4 The Panel will seek applicants from a wide range of industries and sectors. Preference may be given to those who specify an interest in undertaking one of the programme specialisations (Health Care Management and Aviation Management).

3.5 The decision of the MBA Scholarship Committee is final. The University will not accept any appeals in respect of the decisions made by the MBA Scholarship Committee.

3.6 Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of allocation will be considered for scholarships using the information provided at the time of their course application only and cannot be considered should their circumstances change during the course of their studies. Scholarships cannot be backdated.

3.7 Scholarships are awarded for the September and January entry of the academic year 2023/24 only and cannot be deferred to later months or years of entry. Course applicants who intend to defer their studies will lose any award they have been made and must re-apply for a scholarship in the year they will begin their studies.

3.8 Course applicants who intend to start in January should apply for the January scholarship using the correct application form, applicants who incorrectly submit an application using the September scholarship application will not be considered and will have to apply again.

3.9 Scholarships will be allocated provisionally throughout the year and formally awarded twice a year. In August/September for the September intake and in December for the January intake.

4. Conditions of payment

4.1 Scholarships are awarded for the academic year 2024/25 only and cannot be deferred. Applicants who intend to defer their studies must re-apply for a scholarship in the year they will begin their studies. Applicants wishing to defer entry from September to January, will retain the award if they defer by 01 November 2024.

4.2 Scholarship awardees will be responsible for paying the remainder of their tuition fees after the scholarship contribution is deducted from the total fees for the academic year.

4.3 The scholarship does not replace the deposit of £5,000. All scholarship winners will need to pay the £5,000 deposit for their course in order to receive an unconditional offer and a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). The amount of their scholarship will be deducted from the remaining fees. This applies to overseas fee paying students only.

4.4 The fee waiver will only be applied provided the student is fully enrolled at the University on the MBA full-time or part-time programme, which includes having had their qualifications and other documentation verified and checked, and then completing the University enrolment procedures. This includes holding the correct visa to study, if appropriate.

4.5 The fee waiver will apply in Year 1 only of the full-time programme and for a maximum of two years only, split equally across both academic years for the part-time programme, subject to progressing to the second year of the course.

4.6 Awarded scholars are excluded from all other scholarships and tuition fee waivers with the exception of the Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship and Early Payment Discount.

The order of discounts will be applied as follows:

1. Scholarship/bursary fee waiver. If you have a fee waiver and the Postgraduate Taught Academic Excellence Scholarship, we will apply the fee waiver first.

2. 10% Brunel Alumni Family Discount or Brunel Family Discount applied to the net tuition fee (if applicable).

3. 15% Graduate discount applied to the net tuition fee (if applicable).

4. 2% Early payment discount applied to the net tuition fee (if applicable).

4.7 Scholarship awardees who have already paid the full course fees can visit the Student Centre to request a refund of any overpayment; once they have met all conditions of their offer and enrolled onto their course in person.

5. Withdrawal of a scholarship

5.1 Misleading information: The University reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship from anyone who is found to have misled the University about any aspect of their eligibility and to seek repayment of any monies already paid by appropriate means.

5.2 Mode of Attendance Change: If a student transfers from the full-time MBA to the part time MBA, or from the part-time MBA to the full-time MBA, the scholarship will be withdrawn. If an applicant changes mode of study prior to Registration they may apply for a new scholarship and will be assessed accordingly, should scholarships remain available. The applicant will not be guaranteed a scholarship against the new mode of study.

5.3 Changing course: If a student transfers to a course outside the MBA programme the scholarship will be withdrawn.

5.4 Change of employment sector: Employer sector used to determine the scholarship award will be considered at the point of application/enrolment. Any subsequent change to the sector of employment will not be considered for a change in scholarship award.

5.5 Amendment of Fee Waivers: Fee waivers are applied at the start of the academic year as part/all of a scholarship entitlement and will not be amended once the fee waiver has been processed. Any tuition fee liability remaining after fee waivers are applied would therefore be calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy.

5.6 Abeyance/Temporary Withdrawal: A student who takes a period of temporary withdrawal (abeyance) and who is in receipt of a scholarship award would cease to receive scholarship payments whilst temporarily withdrawn. Scholarship payments made prior to temporarily withdrawing will not generally be requested to be repaid and remaining payments would generally be paid once the student returns to complete that level of study.

5.7 Suspension of Study: Should a student be suspended for any reason, scholarship payments would be withdrawn and consideration of reinstatement will be dependent on the disciplinary outcome.

5.8 Repeat/Extended Study: Repeat periods of study, and periods of temporary withdrawal that result in extended periods of study, are not supported by additional scholarship payments. Scholarship entitlement is for the maximum duration of each award and entitlement is not extended if overall course duration alters.

5.9 Withdrawal from Study: A student who withdraws from their programme prior to completion and who is in receipt of a scholarship award will not normally be requested to repay scholarship payments made up to the point of withdrawal; however, entitlement to all future scholarship payments and/or adjustments, cease immediately when a student withdraws from Brunel University London.

Award details

The Postgraduate Academic Excellence scholarship is available for students on Postgraduate Taught (PGT) courses at Brunel University London and is available to all students who have obtained a First-Class undergraduate degree;

• from a UK University, either in the UK or at an overseas campus or

• obtained the equivalent of a UK First Class degree from an EU institution

Additionally, graduates of Brunel University London will receive the Graduate Discount of 15% off the final tuition fee amount due (after any the scholarship award has been applied). On the basis that they register on a taught postgraduate programme on a fully self-funding basis (including career development loans).

Value: A discount of 15% off the tuition fees.

How many: All those that meet the eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

The Scholarship will be awarded to all full time, part time, distance learning or online learning students who meet all the following criteria:

•  Have an unconditional offer to study a taught Master’s programme at Brunel University London, this includes the MBA and Mres programmes.

•  Have achieved a First Class honours degree from a UK University or an EU University.

  • For a UK degree: the award must be from a UK University, the student does not have to have attended a UK based campus.

  • An honours degree awarded with distinction is acceptable where no first class classification exists.

  • Holding a higher degree, without having achieved a First Class classification at undergraduate level does not qualify for receipt of this award.

  • For an EU equivalent the award must be from a recognised EU institution and be the equivalent of a First-class honours degree, as listed in appendix 1.

Those not eligible for this scholarship:

• Applicants on all associate courses or modules.

• Applicants undertaking short courses.

• All PGCert, PGDip and PGCE courses – with the exception of the PGCE Secondary Education with PE and PGCE Primary (which are not funded by the Governments Teacher Training bursaries).

• Applicants on Postgraduate Research courses.

• Those who are being funded either in full or partially, this excludes those applicants whose fees are being paid by their employer, but does include:

• Bursaries provided by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL). This discount will apply to courses that are not eligible for a bursary, namely the PGCE in Primary Education and the PGCE in Secondary Education with PE only.

• Applicants on the PG Cert Education (Primary) FT.

• Courses that are fully funded by the Environment Agency namely MSc Flood and Costal Engineering.

• Those students who are sponsored by their Government.

The International Bursary offers £2,000 fee reduction for self-funded international students across our postgraduate taught courses.

This bursary was designed to reward students based on their academic profile and payment of the course deposit.

• Must have a 2:2 or equivalent internationally recognised undergraduate qualification.

• Must be classed as an Overseas fee paying student based on the UK government regulations and be self-funded (not sponsored). Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information they have provided in their application form to assess fee status against regulations set by the UK government. • Must have an offer to study on a full time postgraduate taught programme starting in January 2025.

• Applicants must pay their £5,000 tuition fee deposit within the stated deadline to secure the fee reduction.

• All applicants must meet all conditions of their offer by the time they are due to register at Brunel.

2.2 Those not eligible for this Bursary

• Applicants NOT classed as Overseas for fees purposes, based on the UK government regulations or those with an unresolved fee status.

• Applicants who are being sponsored by a Government or external body.

• The award is not available to Postgraduate Research applicants (i.e. PhD, MPhil).

• Applicants who will NOT commence their course in January 2025 (2024/25 academic year), this includes deferred entry month and year.

• Applicants entering a course with Brunel Pathway College (BPC) or who are progressing to a Brunel course from an BPC course.

• Applicants holding an offer to study by Distance Learning.

• Applicants holding offers to study on a part-time programme.

• Students who have previously studied with Brunel University London.

3. Allocation

3.1 Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of allocation will be considered for a tuition fee reduction using the information supplied at the time of their course application. A change in circumstances will not be considered. Fee reductions cannot be backdated.

3.2 In order to be considered applicants must have a 2:2 or equivalent internationally recognised undergraduate qualification, must have paid their course deposit by the stated deadline, meet the entry criteria for the course and meet their offer conditions.

3.3 The decision of the University is final. The University will not accept any appeals in respect of the award allocation or for awards that have been withdrawn.

3.4 Applicants will be expected to pay the £5,000 course deposit and for the funds to be received by Brunel by the deadline of 30^th November 2024.

3.5 Applicants who do not pay the course deposit or where the funds have not been received by 17^th December 2024 will forfeit the fee reduction and the fee reduction will not be applied.

3.6 The International Bursary cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, bursary, discount, or award, with the exception of the 2% prompt payment discount. Any eligible discount will be deducted from the remaining tuition fee upon enrolment.

3.7 If an applicant is eligible for more than one scholarship or discount, they will be awarded the one which is the most financially beneficial across the full course duration.

3.8 Fee reductions are made for the January 2024/25 academic year only and cannot be deferred to later months or years of entry. Applicants who intend to defer their studies from January 2025 to September 2025 will lose any fee reduction they have been made.

4. Conditions of fee discount

4.1 Applicants will be responsible for paying the remainder of their tuition fees after the fee reduction has been applied.

4.2 The tuition fee for the first year of study will be reduced £2,000.

4.3 Conditions of fee waiver: The fee waiver will only be made providing the student is fully enrolled at the University on a postgraduate taught programme.

4.4 The award does not replace the deposit of £5,000. All applicants will need to pay the £5,000 deposit for their course in order to formally receive the award.

4.5 The fee reduction will only be applied providing the student is fully enrolled at the University on a full time postgraduate taught programme of study which includes having had their qualifications and other documentation verified and checked, and then completing the University enrolment procedures. This includes holding the correct visa to study.

4.6 Applicants who have already paid the full course fees can visit the Student Centre to request a refund of any overpayment; once they have met all conditions of their offer and enrolled onto their course.

5. Withdrawal of the discount

5.4 Repeat/Extended Study: Periods of temporary withdrawal that result in repeat or extended periods of study are not supported by additional fee reductions.

5.5 Withdrawal from Study: A student who withdraws from their programme prior to completion and who is in receipt of a fee reduction will not normally be requested to repay reduction payments made up to the point of withdrawal.

5.6 Fee Waiver Amendments: Fee reductions are applied at the start of the academic year as part/all of an award entitlement and will not normally be amended once the fee waiver has been processed. Any tuition fee liability remaining after fee waivers are applied would therefore be calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy. In the case of withdrawal or abeyance the tuition fee and the fee waiver are calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy.

5.7 Sponsored students: Students who have Government sponsorship, NHS Bursary funding, employer sponsorship or any other external sponsorship for part or all of the tuition fees are not eligible for this Award. If Admissions receive details of sponsorship after an International Bursary has been awarded, the Award will be removed.

This bursary was designed to reward students based on their academic profile and we will award the tuition fee award to all applicants who meet or exceed the criteria for the award.

To be considered applicants need to hold an offer of a place to study on an undergraduate course starting in September 2024. Awards will be made until the end of August 2024.

Who is eligible?

To be considered, here’s what you will need:

• Achieved a minimum 3 A Levels with grades ABB and above or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification;

• Have an offer to study on one of our undergraduate courses starting in September 2024;

Value: £2,000 tuition fee reduction applied each year for a maximum of three years and four years for integrated foundation programmes. The awards will be paid once for each eligible level of study, subject to normal progression criteria having been met (additional payments will not be made during a repeating year, regardless of the reason for repetition).

Application process: There is no separate application, applicants will be identified and considered for the award on a case by case basis throughout the year until the scheme closure on 31^st August 2024. The fee reduction will be confirmed in September 2024, subject to meeting all conditions stated in the offer email.

Brunel will assess each application for suitability against these terms and conditions.

Award holders may be required to represent Brunel as ambassadors throughout their time at the University and to participate occasionally in various activities to help promote the University. This might include hosting tours of the campus and its facilities, providing administrative support at Open Days, participating in social media and other marketing activity as required. Scholarship winners will be contacted by the International Recruitment or Marketing team as and when participation is required.

• Applicants applying for the Graduate LLB Law Programme will be considered for the Bursary and must achieve a minimum of 2:1 or higher in an Undergraduate degree.

2.2 Those not eligible for this bursary:

• Applicants NOT classed as Overseas for fees purposes, based on the UK government regulations or those with an unresolved fee status.

Our Vice-Chancellor's Excellence Award offers £5,000 fee reduction for self-funded international students across our postgraduate taught courses starting in January.

This scholarship was designed to reward exceptional students with excellent academic records and a passion for creating positive change in their communities.

Who is eligible?

To be considered, here's what you will need:

• Achieve a minimum 2:1 and above or equivalent internationally recognised undergraduate degree;

• Have an offer from us to study one of our postgraduate taught courses starting in January 2025;

• Pay your £5,000 course deposit by 30 November 2024.

1. Award details

Value: £5,000 tuition fee reduction applied to the first year of study only.

The fee reduction will be applied to the student record at registration and, where applicable, will be displayed on your CAS. It will not appear on your offer email or application record.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Must have an offer to study on a full time postgraduate taught programme starting in January 2025 of the 2024/25 academic year.

• Applicants must have a minimum 2:1 and above or equivalent internationally recognised undergraduate qualification.

• Must be classed as an Overseas fee paying student based on the UK government regulations and be self-funded (not sponsored). Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information they have provided in their application form to assess fee status against regulations set by the UK government. For information on these regulations please visit the independent organisation UKCISA’s website.

• All applicants must meet all conditions of their offer by the time they are due to register at Brunel.

• Applicants must pay their £5,000 tuition fee deposit within the deadline to secure their fee reduction.

2.2 Those not eligible for this award

• Applicants NOT classed as Overseas for fees purposes, based on the UK government regulations or those with an unresolved fee status.

• Applicants who are not fully self-funded and are being sponsored by a Government or external body.

• The award is not available to Postgraduate Research applicants (i.e. PhD, MPhil).

• Applicants who will NOT commence their course in January 2025 (2024/25 academic year), this includes deferred entry month and year.

• Applicants entering a course with Brunel Pathway College (BPC) or who are progressing to a Brunel course from an BPC course.

• Applicants holding an offer to study by Distance Learning.

• Applicants holding offers to study on a part-time programme.

• Applicants holding offers to study on an online learning programme.

• Students who have previously studied with Brunel University London.

3. Allocation

3.1 Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of allocation will be considered for a tuition fee reduction automatically using the information provided at the time of their course application only. Applicants cannot be considered should their circumstances change during the course of their studies. Fee reductions cannot be backdated.

3.2 In order to be considered applicants must have a minimum 2:1 and above or equivalent internationally recognised undergraduate qualification, meet the entry criteria for the course and meet the course offer.

3.3 The decision of the University is final. The University will not accept any appeals in respect of the award allocation made or for awards that have been withdrawn.

3.4 Applicants will be expected to pay the course deposit of £5,000 and for the funds to be received by Brunel in time for the closure of the scheme on 30 November 2024.

3.5 Applicants who do not pay the course deposit of £5,000 or where the funds have not been received by Brunel by 30 November 2024 will forfeit the fee reduction and the fee reduction will not be applied.

3.6 The Vice Chancellors Excellence award cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, bursary, discount, or award, with the exception of the 2% prompt payment discount.

3.7 If an applicant is eligible for more than one scholarship or discount, they will be awarded the one which is most financially beneficial across the full course duration.

3.8 Fee reductions are made for the January 2024/25 academic year only and cannot be deferred to later months or years of entry. Applicants who intend to defer their studies from January 2024/25 academic year to September 2025/26 will lose any fee reduction they have been made.

4. Conditions of fee discount

4.1 Applicants will be responsible for paying the remainder of their tuition fees after the fee reduction is deducted from their first year tuition fee.

4.2 The tuition fee will be reduced £5,000 of the students first year of study.

4.3 Conditions of fee waiver: The fee waiver will only be made providing the student is fully enrolled at the University on a postgraduate taught programme.

4.4 The award does not replace the deposit of £5,000. All applicants will need to pay the £5,000 deposit for their course in order to formally receive the award.

4.5 The fee reduction will only be applied providing the student is fully enrolled at the University on a full time postgraduate taught programme of study which includes having had their qualifications and other documentation verified and checked, and then completing the University enrolment procedures. This includes holding the correct visa to study.

4.6 Applicants who have already paid the full course fees can visit the Student Centre to request a refund of any overpayment; once they have met all conditions of their offer and enrolled onto their main course in person.

5. Withdrawal of the discount

5.1 Misleading information: The University reserves the right to withdraw the fee reduction from anyone who is found to have misled the University about any aspect of their eligibility and to seek repayment of any monies already paid by appropriate means.

5.2 Mode of Attendance Change: If a student changes to different mode of study, their eligibility for the award will be reviewed. The fee reduction will be withdrawn if the change is from full time to part time or distance learning.

5.3 Abeyance/Temporary Withdrawal: A student who takes a period of temporary withdrawal (abeyance) and who is in receipt of a fee reduction would cease to receive payments whilst temporarily withdrawn. Fee reduction payments made prior to temporarily withdrawing will not generally be requested to be repaid and remaining payments would generally be paid once the student returns to complete that level of study.

5.4 Suspension of Study: Should a student be suspended for any reason, payments will be withdrawn and consideration of reinstatement will be dependent on the disciplinary outcome.

5.5 Repeat/Extended Study: Periods of temporary withdrawal that result in repeat or extended periods of study are not supported by additional payments. Reduction entitlement is for the maximum duration of each award and entitlement is not extended if overall course duration alters.

5.6 Withdrawal from Study: A student who withdraws from their programme prior to completion and who is in receipt of a fee reduction will not normally be requested to repay reduction payments made up to the point of withdrawal.

5.7 Fee Waiver Amendments: Fee reductions are applied at the start of the academic year as part/all of an award entitlement and will not normally be amended once the fee waiver has been processed. Any tuition fee liability remaining after fee waivers are applied would therefore be calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy. In the case of withdrawal or abeyance the tuition fee and the fee waiver are calculated in accordance with the Student Financial Policy.

5.8 Sponsored students: Students who have Government sponsorship, NHS Bursary funding, employer sponsorship or any other external sponsorship for part or all of the tuition fees are not eligible for this Award. If Admissions receive details of sponsorship after a Vice Chancellors award has been made, the Award will be removed.
