British Chevening Scholarships (Various countries)
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree.
Chevening Scholarships are for talented people who have been identified as potential future leaders across a wide range of fields; including politics, business, the media, civil society, religion, and academia. Applicants should be high-calibre graduates with the personal, intellectual and interpersonal qualities necessary for leadership. Chevening Scholars come from over 160 countries worldwide (excluding the USA and the EU), and this year the Scholarships will support approximately 600 established or emerging leaders. There are over 43,000 Chevening alumni around the world who together comprise an influential and highly regarded global network.
UCL offers a contribution worth 20% of the tuition fee to scholars who are awarded full funding by Chevening.
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) provides the main UK government scholarship scheme led by international development objectives. By supporting innovators and leaders of the future from across the Commonwealth, and by attracting outstanding talent to Britain’s universities, their work combines sustainable development with the UK national interest.
The CSC offers a range of different scholarship oprions to postgraduate students from a variety of countries. UCL offers a contribution worth 20% of the tuition fee to scholars who are awarded full funding by the CSC under one of its scholarship schemes.
Value: UCL provides a 20% contribution towards tuition fees.

Candidates must be citizens of Bangladesh, India, Malaysia and Nigeria.
Candidates must have made an application to study a full-time Master's degree at UCL in 2024/25, and hold an offer of a place at UCL by the scholarship closing date of Tuesday 7th May 2024. Please note distance learning and mod flex courses are not eligible.

There are 4 scholarships available in 2024/25. 1 for Bangladesh, 1 for India, 1 for Malaysia and 1 for Nigeria.
The value of the scholarship is £10,000.
The scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees.
Award recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the UCL – GREAT scholarship. The GREAT Scholarship must be used to pay your tuition fees.

Preventing and redressing the impact of inequalities is a core philosophy of the UCL Master of Public Health (MPH). To reflect this, we are offering two scholarships annually which will support applicants who have demonstrated financial need, who have lived experience of inequality, and who show great promise for population health impact. The IMPACT scholarship up to the value of £19,300 will contribute towards the recipient’s full-time fees to study on the MPH programme. People wishing to study part-time or modular flexible are also welcome to apply and the scholarship up to the value of £19,300 will contribute towards the recipient’s fees and will be applied pro rata.
Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil all of the following criteria:
Has lived experience of inequality. This may include, but is not limited to, experience of inequality due to income, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, carer responsibilities, adverse childhood experiences, social exclusion, or disability.
Meets the admissions criteria for UCL online Master of Public Health (MPH).
AND have submitted an admissions application for the MPH programme at UCL, starting in 2024/25.

There are up to two bursaries available in 2024/25.
The value of the bursary is £19,300.
The bursary is tenable for students who wish to study full time, part time of via modular-flexible.
The bursary will first be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees.

The MSc Dental Public Health Aubrey Sheiham Scholarship

The UCL Research Department of Epidemiology and Public Health is pleased to offer two one-year Scholarships for full-time students undertaking theMSc in Dental Public Health. The awards will commence in September 2024 and the Scholarships will consist of £2,500 towards tuition fees for home students and £5,000 for overseas students. The recipients will be expected to secure the remaining part of their tuition fees and to cover their living costs.
The overseas Scholarship is funded through very generous personal donations from Dr Garry Rayant and Dr Kathy Fields, and Dr Helena Cronin in honour of the late Professor Aubrey Sheiham, an inspirational dental public health scholar who originally established the UCL MSc course and who taught and enthused many students across his distinguished academic career.
Eligibility requirements
Candidates must commit to pursue the full-time UCL MSc in Dental Public Health and must have received an unconditional offer of admission. Applicants with a conditional offer can apply for the Scholarship but must receive an unconditional offer before 16th August 2024 to be eligible for the Scholarship.
Selection criteria
Awards will be made on the basis of experience, qualifications and future academic potential assessed by curriculum vitae and depending on the number of applications received, through online interviews. Short-listed candidates will be also asked to write a 1000-word essay on a pre-defined public health topic. The Scholarships will be awarded upon the recommendation of an academic selection panel chaired by the Head of the Dental Public Health research group, Professor Richard Watt.
Value and duration
The value of each award is £2,500 (home students) and £5,000 (overseas students). Awards are tenable for one year of full-time study only for the session 2024-2025. Terms and conditions of the award:
The Scholarship may be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards or bursaries.
The Scholarship cannot be transferred to another institution, nor deferred to a later year.
The Scholarship will go towards the recipient's tuition fees; any remaining tuition fees will be payable by the recipient.
The Scholarship payments will only be made if the recipient is fully enrolled on the MSc Dental Public Health programme (2024/25 entry).
All awards are subject to the provisions of the General Regulations for Scholarships, Awards, Bursaries, Prizes and medals.

The scholarship will be paid in the form of a tuition fee discount. Final decisions on the eligibility of applicants and allocation of scholarships will be made by the UCL Ear Institute. This award can only be applied to full or part-time programmes at the UCL Ear Institute listed above (the flexible study mode option is not eligible). This scholarship cannot be combined with any other fee reduction or University bursary.

Candidates can be from any country outside the UK but must fulfill all of the following criteria:
be eligible to pay the Overseas fee rate;

AND have submitted a complete admission application (including the submission of references) for a full-time Master's degree at UCL in 2024/25. Please note: Distance-learning options are not eligible for this fund; students must be coming to the UK to attend UCL in person.

There are up to 85 (eighty-five) scholarships available in 2024/25 with five aimed specifically at students from India.
The value of the bursary is £15,000.
The scholarship is tenable for one year only unless the full-time programme is 2yrs in length. In that case the scholarship will be paid 50% in each year.
The UCL Global Masters Scholarship may be held alongside other scholarships, studentships, awards, or bursaries. The amount of the UCL award may be adjusted depending on the total value of other funds received by the student.
Scholarship recipients are obliged to inform the UCL Student Funding Office immediately of any other funding they are awarded towards their UCL Master’s degree studies, before or subsequent to the UCL Global Masters Scholarship being awarded.
The scholarship will first be applied to the recipient’s tuition fees, with any remainder payable to the recipient in three equal instalments, throughout the academic year, towards maintenance.

UCL GREAT ORMOND Street Institute of Child Scholarship

Funded by the generous support of The Child Health Reseach CIO, up to ten students registered for an MSc or MRes at ICH can receive up to £3,000 towards the fees for a full-time student OR up to £1,500 per year for a student taking an MSc on a part-time basis, paid over two years. The award amount will be deducted from the cost of fees at the start of the programme.
Eligibility
The scholarship is available to students registered any pathway within the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute Child Health MSc/MRes programmes.
Selection criteria
Students will be assessed on the basis of the scholarship application form and in particular on their personal statement, as well as their original application for their degree programme.
The selected student will:
be academically strong.
show commitment to their field of study demonstrated through previous work/ work experience, professional development, attendance at conferences and qualifications.
demonstrate their career plans and how the MSc/MRes will benefit these plans.
Provide a strong rationale for the scholarship bursary with details of how the money will be used to support their education.
Where the award is made to an overseas student, the candidate must have already obtained the required level of English Language and the panel must take steps within reason to ensure that the candidate will be able to afford the remaining costs involved with completing the MSc /MRes.

Additional eligibility criteria: Annual renewal of the scholarships is based on satisfactory progress of the scholars who are expected to maintain an academic standard equivalent to at least an upper second-class honours (2:1) throughout the undergraduate programme.
Deadline: There is no application procedure. All UCL UPCSE/UPCH students holding an offer of admission for undergraduate studies at UCL will be considered.
