£10,000 towards tuition fees for applicants to study a Master’s programme run by the Faculty of Medicine
Eligibility criteria
General eligibility:
These awards are open to all students who make an application to the Faculty of Medicine before the scholarship deadline for admission to study for a full‑time or part‑time Master’s programme (or PG Cert for a course where that is the only route to the higher degree) at Imperial College London, starting in the following October.
Please note that these awards can only be given to students who are studying a programme run by the Faculty of Medicine.
It is not essential for applicants to have already received an offer of a place on a programme, but the initial programme application must be made before applying for a scholarship.

Academic eligibility
Candidates are expected to be able to provide evidence of outstanding academic ability. This will usually mean being among the highest achievers in their undergraduate cohort, and in receipt of or due to receive a first class UK Honours degree or equivalent. An applicant who does not meet this requirement (e.g. holds a second class undergraduate degree, is a health professional who did not undertake a degree course, or is from a non‑traditional background) will be considered if they are able to demonstrate that they have outstanding academic potential and substantial experience relevant to their chosen subject area.
Full tuition fees and a maintenance grant to support living expenses
Eligibility criteria
This scholarship is open to applicants who:
Have a strong academic background and demonstrate potential for future success
Show a track record of professional excellence through internships and/or work experience
Exhibit exceptional communication skills throughout the application process, particularly during the scholarship interview
Can clearly articulate how they have overcome financial challenges in their pursuit of education, or share their experiences as a first-generation student.
The scholarship is aimed at academically outstanding students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds or those who are first-generation university students.
Applicants who meet the Imperial criteria for Widening Participation (WP) are automatically eligible:
You are a care leaver or have spent time in care under a local authority, or
Your home address* postcode falls into England’s index of multiple deprivation quintile one, or
You currently receive Free School Meals or have been eligible to receive them in the past; or
Your home address* postcode falls into POLAR4 quintile 1 or 2 and you also meet one of the following criteria:
You are the first in your family to attend university
You attend an English school where the key-stage 5 performance is below Imperial's percentile threshold of 20%
You attend a school in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland where the Free School Meals percentile is above Imperial's percentile threshold of 80%
*Your home address is your place of permanent residence and not your school or boarding school.
To be considered for this bursary, applicants must be a self-funded student who demonstrates exceptional academic merit and/or potential, and financial need that shows the inability to otherwise enrol on an MSc programme.
The strength of the application, interview, and professional experience to date will also be considered.
