University of Galway conduct regular voice of the industry analysis and ensure that the needs, wants and expectations are delivered in the programme. They aim to equip students with real-world skills.The modules are all relevant to industry and they are assessed via problem-based learning techniques and challenge-based learning. They teach methods, tools and software applications that are relevant and used in industry. University of Galway have speakers from industry in almost every module. Examples include leading project managers and programme managers for Project Management, R&D Managers, inventors and successful new venture creators for technology innovation & Entrepreneurship.

University of Galway have hands-on workshops facilitated by leaders in industry e.g. the VP of continuous improvement in Medtronic delivers a Lean Systems Workshop every year deliver professional auditing courses. 30% of the programme requires candidates to identify an industry challenge and capture and analyse real-world data from a company or industry to scientifically assess and report on the issue.
