International students can take advantage of a number of Scholarships. Some are funded by government and other external bodies and others by our partner institutes.
Due to the impact of currency devaluation and other market factors in South Asia, UHI is offering scholarship to all students with a home domicile in the following countries, who are studying at one of our campuses:
India
Pakistan
Nepal
Sri Lanka
Bangladesh
Bhutan
The scholarship provides a 10% reduction on the published on-campus fees.
The Drummond Foundation Scholarship provides two awards of £500 for students studying Health and Social Care with a particular interest in caring for Dementia suffers. There will be no work experience attached to this award but the students would need to express an interest in caring for people with dementia.
The Inverness Entrance Scholarship is to support one student from the Inverness area for the duration of their course (up to 4 years) with an award of £3,000 per year.
The University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) has been offered support from a variety of charitable trusts and foundations to establish an entrance scholarship programme for students starting courses at UHI in September 2023.
Initially the fund has the capacity to support one student from the Inverness area for the duration of their course (up to 4 years) with an award of £3,000 per year. The student can be studying any HE course at of UHI’s partner colleges. The maximum award the student will receive is £12,000 (if they are participating in a 4 year degree programme).
Eligibility
Students with an offer to study any HE course at UHI are eligible to apply.
The award will be given subject to selected student meeting the conditions for entrance onto their chosen course and accepting their offer of a place at UHI.
Support for up to 4 years – students will be required to continue to meet academic requirements and provide an annual report of their progress.
The studentmust come from the Inverness area and be able to demonstrate strong links to that region.
