Nottingham Trent awarded most sustainable UK university prize

29 November 2016

The People and Planet University League has crowned Nottingham Trent University as the most sustainable university in the UK. The table is the UK’s only comprehensive and independent green ranking of universities, and it is the third time Nottingham Trent has topped it.

Initiatives included the creation of the eco-friendly award-winning Pavilion building on the Clifton Campus, which produces more energy than it needs to run through an array of solar panels, energy-efficient glazing, natural light and insulation, and the ‘Greening the City’ project, which has seen the creation of new green spaces on the City Campus for staff and students.

Grant Anderson, Environmental Manager at Nottingham Trent University, said: “We are delighted to once again top the People and Planet University League. We have been ranked first three times, more than any other university, and have been in the top ten since 2009.”
