Prashanta B Barua
Country Director
Prashanta Bhushon Barua is an Advocate in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh holding a joint an LLB from the University of Dhaka (University of London International Programmes), and another joint LLM from the University of Dhaka (Queen Mary University of London). Prior to returning to the law profession, Mr. Barua spent 15 years in the UK, and worked as Education Administrator and academic in UK HE sector. He ran two UK HE and FE Colleges successfully reviewed by QAA, and accredited by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. Mr. Barua has an extensive knowledge and insight on QAA expectations of recruitment in the UK HE sector. Alongside regular law teaching, Mr. Barua is a guest lecturer to several British, Indian, Bangladeshi Universities, and is renowned for his strong advocacy on quality delivery in HE Sector. In many Universities in Bangladesh and India, youth and cultural organisations, Mr. Barua is widely recognised as a motivational speaker. Alongside his law practice, Mr. Barua is keen to offer quality education to young people worldwide so that they can achieve their dreams.
Vaskar Sharma
Country Manager
Vaskar Sharma is a business graduate from the University of Dhaka and studied an MA by Research in Textile and Design Management at the University of Huddersfield. He is a qualified professional with technical and organisational skills harvested from 13 years’ of work experience in senior positions at leading national and international joint venture establishments in operations and business development. Vaskar had gained industry experience in international higher education having worked for two British colleges for more than five years in business development through agent management. He also managed a regional study center in Bangladesh. His most recent professional role was to lead a government funded regional team of social media campaigns aiming to ensure the participation of youth citizens in-country’s socio-economic development in this digital era. He also has fit for purpose knowledge on QAA expectations on recruitment for the UK HE sector. Vaskar is responsible for overall operations of SI-UK Bangladesh and will oversee the www.studyin-uk.com/bangladesh website as well as other digital marketing activities.
John Stephen Gomes
Business Development Manager
John Stephen Gomes is a business graduate from East West University and has an Advance Diploma of Accounting from Australian Institute of Commerce and Language (AICL). He has been working in the education sector for over six years in Bangladesh.He is a highly experienced trainer who is recognized by his peers as an authority on participatory techniques of modern English language teaching and training. He has an extensive network among the students and the academics of Bangladesh which helps him to reach out to the potential students those who want to pursue higher studies abroad. John has a wonderful blend of communication, managerial and decision making skills. He has received numerous training on Business Development Policies, Leadership, Event Management, Client Management and Corporate Strategy etc. John is responsible for enhancing business growth and acts as business development manager for SI-UK Bangladesh. He is also the in-charge of the English Language training and provides all necessary supports for the SI-UK Bangladesh team.
Tajrian Chowdhury
Senior Education Counsellor
Tajrian Chowdhury holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature and a master’s degree in English Language Training (ELT) from the Eastern University Bangladesh. She has been working in the education industry for more than six years as an English language lecturer and also as a career counsellor. She received professional training on scientific writing, leadership, behavioural change communication, SRHR & Law. Tajrian has accumulated in-depth knowledge of counselling, guiding, and enrolling students for the right subjects according to their academic path and academic performance. She also comprehends internal processes of universities, student needs and admission requirements.
Jannatul Ferdous
Education Counsellor
Jannatul Ferdous holds a bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance (dual degree certificate) from the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation affiliated with Staffordshire University, UK. She enhanced her efficiencies in communication and counselling through working for Student Arc Team, Student Service Team and Rotaract Club during undergraduate studies. She is enthusiastic about becoming a professional education counsellor and has great passion for guiding the Bangladeshi students throughout the journey of conducting higher studies in the UK.
