UCAS Clearing 2024

What is UCAS Clearing?

UCAS Clearing is for students who are unable to secure an offer from a UK university because:

Clearing is how UK universities fill vacancies on courses that begin in September, at the start of the new academic year. Clearing begins each year in July and lasts until September.

UCAS Clearing Help

Learn more below about how SI-UK India can assist students in finding available courses at UK universities from July onwards. Arrange a free consultation to get started.

Arrange your free consultation to learn more about available undergraduate courses for September entry at UK universities. Your personal consultant will review the Clearing list with you, discussing subject options and university locations.

Once we have established which courses and universities you are interested in, your consultant will contact institutions on your behalf to find out if they are interested in accepting you as a student.

After contacting universities on your behalf, you may be informally offered a place at several institutions. If you are unfamiliar with the university, research the institution, area and accommodation options.

If you decide to accept an offer, you will need to enter your Clearing choice through UCAS. You can only enter one Clearing choice at a time but add another if the university doesn’t confirm your place.

Clearing FAQ

Clearing starts on July 5th and ends on October 18th.

Yes, clearing is available to Indian and international students.

Contact your university or college to find out if they have vacancies and how to apply for one. If you don’t meet their entry requirements, you must let them know early on so you can see if any spaces are available on the appropriate degree. If your course has no vacancies, you must add a Clearing choice when you apply. You can only add one clearing choice at a time.

Digging into the course details should be your priority rather than grabbing the first offer. While reviewing the course details, check the module thoroughly and compare course stats such as student satisfaction scores, graduate employment rates, and average graduate salary. Also, don’t forget to relate the course with your initial choice to ensure it matches your interest.
