2023 Teaching Excellence Framework results announced

The results of the 2023 Teaching Excellence Framework have been announced, with 33 UK universities being awarded gold.
What is the TEF?
The Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) is a nationwide programme administered by the Office for Students (OfS). Its primary objective is to motivate higher education institutions to enhance their performance and excel in the aspects that matter most to students: the quality of teaching, the learning experience, and the attainment of positive results during their academic journey.
2023 Results
For the first time, universities have been given two ratings that make up their overall award: one for the student experience and another for student outcomes. All providers in England with more than 500 undergraduates were required to take part, with participation voluntary for Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish universities.
