Top 5 UK universities under 50 years old

Times Higher Education have announced the best global universities under 50 years old, and once again it is UK universities who dominate the list. A total of 25 UK institutions feature in the top 150, with the University of Dundee topping the list.

University of Dundee (16th overall)

The current Scottish university of the year, the University of Dundee welcomes students from over 140 countries. Students have also rated it the best university for student experience in Scotland for six years running.

University of Bath (41st)

The University of Bath regularly receives top marks for student satisfaction in the areas of engineering, psychology and chemistry, while students have also highlighted excellent academic, sports and social facilities.

University of Surrey (43)

The University of Surrey is the current University of the Year in the Times and Sunday Times University Guide. Over the last three years Surrey has established itself off as a top ten ranking university in each of the main league tables, and is also ranked in the top 1% of global universities.

University of Stirling (54) 

Excelling in the areas of economics, education and communications, the University of Stirling is currently ranked 7th in the UK for graduate employability. For international students interested in sport, Stirling is 1st in Scotland for high-quality sport facilities.

Plymouth University (59)

Ranked in the top 2% of global universities, Plymouth University has received 20 national teaching fellowships, which celebrate excellent practice and outstanding achievement in learning and teaching in higher education, since 2000.
