Aston University named Guardian University of the Year 2020

14 December 2020

Aston University has been named by the Guardian newspaper as its University of the Year for 2020.

The Guardian highlighted Aston's achievment in the areas of diversity and sustainability as it works to erdicate the gap in grades between black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) students and their white peers.

Professor Alec Cameron, Vice-Chancellor of Aston University, said “Being named ‘University of the Year’ by The Guardian is a fantastic testament to the hard work of all our staff and students here at Aston. I am incredibly proud of our diverse, creative and dynamic community, who particularly since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, have proven that we are truly a team."

Aston University is also a Gold rated UK university, has 5 QS Stars for Teaching and is currently 26th in the UK for students achieving 1st and 2:1 Degree classifications (Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide).
