01 February 2016

A report by Times Higher Education has revealed that London is home to more top-200 international universities than the whole of the US, Canada and France combined, led by Imperial College London in 10th place.

15 London universities were ranked in the 200 most international universities in the world, meaning the capital as more top global universities than the USA, Canada and France combined. Imperial College London was tenth overall in the report which analyses the proportion of international staff and international students at each university.

As well as Imperial, University College London, King’s College, London School of Economics, Queen Mary and Royal Holloway are all in the top 30.

Mayor Boris Johnson said: “London not only has the greatest concentration of top-class universities of any city in the world, it is also the most diverse and welcoming. At the cutting edge of innovation and creativity, and with unique cultural richness, London continues to have unrivalled international appeal, attracting the brightest academic and student brains on the planet.”
