Royal Holloway is a member of the University of London and was originally founded in 1879, before gaining full university status in 1985. 8,600 students are currently enrolled from over 100 countries and the University is made up of 19 departments spanning arts and humanities, sciences, social sciences, management and economics.

Royal Holloway has a strong academic reputation, traditionally in the fields of Education and Humanities (the History department is traditionally one of the best in the UK), and is set across 135 acres of beautiful parkland.

Royal Holloway’s multi-million pound estate investment programme continues to enhance the campus, most recently with a new drama theatre - the Caryl Churchill Theatre - and further phases of award-winning student accommodation, plus refurbishment and extensions to a number of academic buildings and services.

The International Student Support service is a dedicated team who provide support and advice to all international students from the moment they arrive in the UK. There are almost 3,000 places available in halls, prioritised for first years and overseas students who are guaranteed a place if apply by the deadline. Options range from the grand setting of the recently refurbished Victorian Founder’s Building to the more modern Williamson, Tyke & Butler, completed in 2007.

Room options vary between en-suite, catered and self-catering, with some shared rooms also available. Each hall also features a dedicated team of residential, operational and maintenance support staff to assist students during their stay.

Royal Holloway's campus in Egham is set across 135 acres of woodland, resting between Windsor and Heathrow on the outskirts of London. The town is within walking distance and features numerous shops, bars and restaurants. By rail, the campus is 35 minutes from the centre of London, and Windsor is also short journey away.

The campus offers the best of both worlds, being friendly and relaxed, while also dynamic and busy. The Independent stated that Royal Holloway is "renowned for its friendly and supportive environment".
