The campus has all the local amenities required including lecture halls, library, shops, banks and a post office are on campus, just a five minute walk from your University of Bath accommodation. Bath have invested over £100 million on new student accommodation, new facilities for the arts, new academic buildings and a new Olympic quality swimming pool situated in the stunning Sports Training Village, which is home to medal-winning Olympic athletes.

Services for International Students

University of Bath study workshops help students adjust to their new academic system and improve study skills. The English language centre offers students free access to English classes in order to support their studies, and Bath's welfare team are available for students when they need advice on personal or academic matters.

The University of Bath joblink and volunteering centre helps students find part-time work in order to gain valuable working experience whilst living and studying in the UK, while the careers office helps students shape their future. A medical centre and dentist are on campus in case medical attention is required.

The University has never been ranked out of the top 20 in The Times League Table and has finished top of the student satisfaction rankings for the last two years. In terms of subject satisfaction, Psychology, Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering received the maximum possible score. The University was awarded Gold in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework.

The Times awarded Bath University of the Year in 2011/12 and Best Campus University in 2014. For universities under 50 years old, Bath is ranked 12th in the world. In the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, 32 per cent of University of Bath’s research achieved the highest possible mark and was classed as world leading.

87% of University of Bath research is world leading or internationally excellent (REF 2014) so your studies will be informed by some of the most exciting and innovative ideas across all fields, including developing new drugs to cure breast cancer, working with Ford to develop fuel-efficient engines, and our Queen’s Anniversary Prizewinning research into child poverty.


Undergraduate students who apply by the application deadline are guaranteed on-campus accommodation for their first year of study. Overseas postgraduate students who have not previously studied at Bath will also be offered a place in off-campus accommodation for up to one academic year. Over 2,000 self-catering rooms are provided on campus, and a further 1,000 rooms are available in the city centre.

Students' rooms are arranged in groups around communal kitchen/dining areas. Students have the option of both single sex and mixed kitchen groups, and may request standard, large or en-suite rooms. Each residential area has a team of resident tutors who live on site and who are available to provide advice or guidance to all residents.


Bath itself is a cosmopolitan city with a rich cultural heritage and is only one of three cities in the world to be included on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Small enough to explore on foot, you can discover its beautiful stone buildings and the natural hot springs which gave the city its name. Indulge in year-round arts festivals, museums, galleries and the spa and get involved with the local community with our great volunteering opportunities. The west of England is the UK's most popular tourist destination.
