This scholarship programme is the first of its kind at Oxford Saïd, seeing the inaugural Linbury scholars start their studies in September 2018.

Linbury Scholars are exceptional individuals who demonstrate a long-term commitment to the arts, heritage or cultural sectors by articulating the intention to pursue a career in these fields in the UK post-MBA/EMBA.

The partnership with the Linbury Trust provides a unique opportunity for UK professionals in the arts, heritage and cultural sectors to study at Oxford Saïd and on graduation take up more senior leadership roles in these sectors.

£57,200 per scholarship.

As a Linbury scholar you will also benefit from a programme of co-curricular activities, which are also funded (up to a total of £2,500) by the Scholarship.

Number available

Three scholarships.

Eligibility criteria

  • Ordinarily resident in the UK
  • Demonstration of a long-term commitment to the arts, heritage or cultural sector by articulating an intention to work in these fields in the UK post completion of the MBA or EMBA programme.

In addition, a minimum of two years’ experience in an arts, heritage or cultural sector organisation is desirable.

How to apply

You must submit the additional Linbury Scholarship essay in the funding section of your programme application form.   Please write up to 500 words, answering the question: How would the business education of an MBA (or) EMBA help you contribute to the arts, cultural or heritage sector in the United Kingdom?

Once admissions decisions for candidates applying to the January deadline on both programmes have been announced, a shortlisting process will then take place assessing both the scholarship essay and details listed within your programme application form. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an in-person scholarship interview, where the selection panel will select the successful Linbury Scholars.

Deadline

  • MBA: 11 January 2019.
  • EMBA: 28 January 2019.
