This scholarship is open for 2019/20 intake.

To celebrate the University of Salford’s creative work in China the School of Arts and Media have launched a new scholarship at PhD level. 

The new PhD Arts and Media China scholarship is open to new and current students and aims to support new academic and creative opportunities between the University and China.

The scholarships are available to support PGR students who can demonstrate an existing or potential contribution to the development of our international partnerships, particularly in china. The purpose is to support applicants in their research and in assisting the growth of sustainable academic partnerships and networks. This contribution may include any or all of the following: a member of staff or active graduate in a partner institution, establishment of relationships with potential partners, representing or supporting the School of Arts and Media or its staff at meetings with partners, undertaking research which has potential for application at partner institutions in China.

70% of tuition fee

Two per year

Eligibility:

2019/20 Applicants who are applying or who are already enrolled on the PGR programme in the School of Arts and Media and have close links to partner/s or potential partner/s institution in China.

You must have an offer of admission to the University of Salford for a PhD programme or be a current student registered on a PhD programme.

You must be a national of China. 

You must complete the International Scholarship Application Form, selecting PhD scholarship Arts and Media

There are two questions specifically for this scholarship.

1) How could your experience facilitate new academic and creative opportunities between the University of Salford and Chinese Universities?

2) How do you see your research supporting the creative and cultural industries either in the UK or China? 

Criteria:

Applications are reviewed by the School and nominations are judged by the International Scholarship Committee.

How to apply:

applicants who hold an offer of admissions for, or who are already enrolled on, the PGR programme in the School of arts and Media and have close links to a partner/s or potential partner/s institution in China.

Once you have received an offer of admission you can them complete the 2018/2019 International Scholarship Application Form.

Applicants must first apply for the eligible programme of study. Once you have received an offer of admission you can then complete the 2018/19 International Scholarship Application Form

Application deadlines:

The deadlines are in line with the International Scholarship timeline with three calls per year, until such time that the scholarships are awarded.

Deadlines are: 28th of August, 20th of November, 14th of May.
